JoAnn on a Bike. My long distance trips on my bike. Friday, October 7, 2016. Day 13: last day 33 mi. 3 of us went our separate ways today and 6 will continue to mile 0 of the C&O. Now our little adventure is over. I think we all enjoyed each others company. No drama, just jolly companionship. Our group of 10 included 2 in their 80s including our SAG driver, 2 in their 60s and the rest in their 70s, 8 Bike Fridays and one cheap mountain bike to be donated at the end of the ride. JoAnn on a Bike. My long distance trips on my bike. Wednesday, September 28, 2016. Day 5: to Confluence. Our ride was primarily through Ohiopyle State Park where we came across workers installing new mile markers measured from Cumberland. The old ones are almost a half mile off. After a super lunch in Ohiopyle at the little bakery, a green smoothie and a wrap, we continued to Confluence for a gourmet 4 course dinner. Isnt any good bicycle adventure really about the food? Friday was a rest day and a chance to tour Cumberland, buy new waterproof gear, visit a Victorian mansion built by a President of the Chesapeake and Ohio company that built the C&O canal and have a geezer nap. Ive done this enough times, you would think I could get out of town without forgetting something! Didnt happen, but I have a small reprieve, since the rest of our group of 10 are flying out on Friday and David is willing to make a last minute delivery.
