Simple and Nourishing Eye Make Up Remover | Joan Spear's Authentic Adventure
https://joanspear.wordpress.com/2014/07/19/simple-and-nourishing-eye-make-up-remover
Joan Spear’s Authentic Adventure. Healthy ideas, sounds and tastes. Simple and Nourishing Eye Make Up Remover. July 19, 2014. I am tired of struggling to take off eye make up- I hardly wear it, anyway, because I end of crying or rubbing my eyes- but still the removal is troubling- most make up removers have chemicals, and soap dries the fragile eye tissues. What to do? You don’t even have to watch the video, but here it is anyway- Coconut Oil Make Up Remover. Hat Tip: sixtyandme.com. Posted by Joan Spear.

Joan Spear’s Authentic Adventure. Healthy ideas, sounds and tastes. A simple Messy Person’s Guide. November 13, 2013. I am not the neatest person I know. I like to spread out when I work and I particularly love working on the dining room table and leaving it all out there – but that means we eat somewhere else or I have to clear it off- I’ve improved over the years by following the advice of many neat friends on how to organize. Here is a simple Messy Person’s Guide. From The Daily Muse. Fill in your det...
Yawning, why not? | Joan Spear's Authentic Adventure
https://joanspear.wordpress.com/2014/08/10/yawning-why-not
Joan Spear’s Authentic Adventure. Healthy ideas, sounds and tastes. Yawning, why not? August 10, 2014. A friend sent me the essay on Yawning by Andrew Newburg, director of Penn’s Center for Spirituality and the Mind. It is from the book: HOW GOD CHANGES YOUR BRAIN. Newburg suggests that yawning can change our brain by regulating neural functions and that it is important to yawn, perhaps bringing yawning more into our daily consciousness- for example, to yawn before working or meditating. Friday, April 5, 2013. Lest We Forget…. It has been over two years since the nuclear power plant in Namie-machi, Fukushima, Japan was crippled by the tsunami triggered by the “ Great East Japan Earthquake. In the aftermath of the nuclear accident on March 2011, all 21,000 residents of the town of Namie-machi were forced to flee their homes. They are still forbidden to enter the city. Friday, April 24, 2015. Earth Day Reflections on Riding the City Bus, Honest Tea Cap Liners, the Karmapa, and Small Change(s). The original Earth Day Logo. Earth Day 2015 began as a glorious spring morning. The sun was out, the sky a bright blue, the air almost. Seasonally warm. I dropped off my bike to get it tuned up for the Rock to Rock Earth Day Ride. I had lots of time for reflection at the bus stop and on my way home. Visited Yale recently as a Chubb Fellow. Makes a substantial difference in the wo...

ontheroadtogreenness: Meatless Monday: Remembrance of Things Past
http://ontheroadtogreenness.blogspot.com/2015/06/meatless-monday-remembrance-of-things.html
Monday, June 29, 2015. Meatless Monday: Remembrance of Things Past. For Proust it was “les petite madeleines.” For me, hermits are the sweet treats that evoke intensely happy memories of times gone by. The hermits I crave came not from my mother’s kitchen, however, but from bakeries near the shore. Hermits are most commonly bar cookies baked in a cake pan, like brownies, and cut into squares. Packed with chopped nuts and raisins, hermits are redolent of the molasses and pungent spices that flavor them.

Monday, February 23, 2015. Meatless Monday: Hankering for Citrus and Warmer Days. I find myself dreaming of warmer climes and the smells and tastes that go with them. A couple of weeks back I really wanted some navel oranges like the ones you can pick from backyard trees in California. After a disappointing walk down the produce aisle, I decided it was time to visit LocalHarvest. I have shopped through Local Harvest several times, always with great success. [This past post. Naturally grown using organic ...

http://ontheroadtogreenness.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 22, 2014. Why Meatless Monday Matters. Hundreds of thousands of people marched through the streets of Manhattan yesterday demanding immediate action on global warming by the UN delegates gathered in New York this week. The Climate March. The largest climate protest in history, attracted people of all ages and demographic groups — from grandparents to children, from NJ residents devastated by Hurricane Sandy to the rich and famous. It reminded me that the Meatless Monday Movement is play...

ontheroadtogreenness: What Have I Been Doing? Where Have I Been?
http://ontheroadtogreenness.blogspot.com/2015/07/what-have-i-been-doing-where-have-i-been.html
Wednesday, July 15, 2015. What Have I Been Doing? Where Have I Been? Nauset Beach Orleans, Massachusetts. I admit that my posts have been a bit sparse so far this year. Last week I had a legitimate excuse. I was away from my desk, relaxing on Cape Cod in a quiet cottage colony on the shores of a kettle pond. While we were there, the sky was mostly blue, it rained mainly at night, and the ocean water was invigorating. Our arrival in Chatham coincided with the tagging of the first great white shark. Still,...

Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Things Worth Knowing: 12.30.14. Some charity must have shared my name. I have been barraged with new requests to support groups who state similar philosophies and missions. Some have snail mailed me address labels and decals; others have promised calendars and tote bags as a membership benefit. All seem to be worthy causes. ’Tis the season to give, but how to decide which causes are most worthy? But how do you gauge the integrity of a national or international organization?

Joan 's Patches | My adventures in quilting, sewing, cooking and collecting vintage sewing machines
Joan 's Patches. My adventures in quilting, sewing, cooking and collecting vintage sewing machines. August 8, 2015. New Vision in Quilt Making. Ties to the Past, Updated. June 9, 2015. You might notice an interesting treatment on the corner at the foot of the bed. That corner fell to the floor and then some, creating a trip hazard. We folded the corner up and pinned it with a no longer used breast pin from her collection. She thinks it makes a nice finishing touch. So do I! May 9, 2015. Ties to the past.

Wednesday, March 24, 2010. We Are Not Faceless. I love that God knows my name. My name matters. Your name matters. It is not just the actual verbage that counts, it is the truth that you exist and you count in our universe and His Kingdom. I guess if we were to be faceless he could have left off all those names and shortened my reading time daily in the One Year Bible. There is another place my name is listed, regardless of my faith walk today. It is the Book of Life. Glad to see my name in t...It can be...
