凶猛的獅子
獅群由三頭到三十多頭不等，由一頭公獅或兩頭兄弟領導。領袖的產生是通過血腥的打鬥，失敗的一方往往嚴重受創，勝方更會把敗方的子女全部殺死，絕不心軟。領導權最長可達四年，但往往不到兩年獅群便會易主。 獅子是夜行動物，通常白天會懶洋洋地躺臥睡覺。獅子每天花超過八成的時間睡覺，而且睡得很酣，旁邊的四驅車不停地轉也不會弄醒牠們。 公獅經常在晨曦和傍晚時分吼叫，主要是宣示主權。獅子是貓科動物中唯一的群居品種，獅群捕獵：獅子狩獵時會集體行動，牠們常用的方式是幾頭獅子先在有利的地方埋伏，另一頭獅子則公然追趕獵物，目的是把獵物驅趕往埋伏好的獅子附近。獅子喜歡在晚間狩獵，這樣可以提高成功率。 沒有比做公獅更不勞而獲了，牠們通常只在捕獵水牛時才會幫上一把。母獅們辛苦得來的食物，往往便給獅群中的公獅搶去，只有在牠們吃飽後，母獅才可享受牠們辛勞的成果。至於小獅子？則要希望還有一點點吃剩的肉碎了。 頭高： 1.7 - 2.5m (. 雄性 ), 1.4 - 1.7m (. 肩高： 1.2m (. 65307; 體長： 2.5 - 3.3m (. 雄性 ), 2.3 - 2.7m (. 雄性 ), 120 - 180kg (.
