In The Garden: August 2011
http://prefertobeinthegarden.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Wordless: 'Sunflowers' and others. Rebecca @ In The Garden. Thursday, August 18, 2011. I really have an obsession with white hydrangeas, if I lived in a zone where blue hydrangeas grew freely, they would hold the #1 spot, but I am happy with these cool beauties. I think of them as 'late summer lilacs'. Below are my three. Here is the delicate beauty Kyushu. The heavily blooming Little Lamb. And a gratuitous lily pic for good measure! Rebecca @ In The Garden. And here is a prob...

In The Garden: September 2011
http://prefertobeinthegarden.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 30, 2011. It feels like the garden is done for the year, but there are still a few blooms hanging on! Heliopsis has started to wane, but still has plenty of yellow blooms on large plants. Perennial Sage has recovered from some flattening deluges, the shed has gone from blue to yellow, providing a different backdrop. The little self sowing Cosmos blooms are still providing interest in the tulip bed. Hydrangea Kyushu is still looking fresh in the shade. The Blue Stars are shining as well.

In The Garden: April 2012
http://prefertobeinthegarden.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 27, 2012. Up next - The Daffodils. The daffodils seemed to arrive early this year, I think they are my favorite spring bloom. If I could only grow 1 variety, it would be Cool Flame, the salmon coloured trumpets are so incredibly pretty. Ice Follies line the driveway, unfortunately they face the wrong way for viewing. It makes them seem a but uppity, but they are only following the sun. The tall and reliable Dutch Master greet visitors as they approach the front door. Rebecca @ In The Garden.

In The Garden: SPRING!
http://prefertobeinthegarden.blogspot.com/2012/05/spring.html
Tuesday, May 8, 2012. We now have a variety of colours and blooms, the Double Flowering Plum is putting on a decent display (though not as impressive as the spring after we threatened to cut them down.). Here are a few Ice Follies behind a small protective fence. Seems to work with both 2 and 4 legged individuals! Brunnera Jack Frost is growing very well after his first winter here. Old Fashioned Bleeding Hearts are growing very quickly! Rebecca @ In The Garden. Deborah at Kilbourne Grove. Hi Rebecca....

In The Garden: June 2014
http://prefertobeinthegarden.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 18, 2014. And the the rains came. A few pics from around the garden, we've been having monsoon rains which is great for plants, but not so good for time outside! This iris was a gift from a friend, I have them scattered around my garden, they have settled in well. The upper front bed on a rainy day, looking lush and full. My favourite Iris 'Superstition', look forward to the blooms but the buds are also beautiful. First Shirley Poppy of the year! Rebecca @ In The Garden. Greetings and Sal...

In The Garden: February 2011
http://prefertobeinthegarden.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 10, 2011. Good time of year for a splash of colour. I picked up this little trio at the grocery store for under $10. :O). I always have high hopes of keeping the primulas and mini roses going til they can be planted, but it doesn't usually work out. We'll see if this trio can move outside in May. In The Garden: Blooming into June..
http://prefertobeinthegarden.blogspot.com/2014/06/blooming-into-june.html
Monday, June 9, 2014. Here are a few from around my garden this week, Flaming Spring Green is a real beauty, and I'm so glad to see them coming back year after year. I find the fancy tulips can be a bit tricky to establish. My Snowdrop Anemones have no trouble naturalizing, in fact they might be taking over a bit. They are so lovely that I don't mind, though the buried Hosta (Patriot) might feel otherwise. The little Globeflowers are an incredible colour, and the spherical shape is fun. Wordless Wednesda...

In The Garden: November 2010
http://prefertobeinthegarden.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 27, 2010. I spoke too soon. It turns out the title of my last blog entry was erroneous. The very next day I was heading up the front walkway, and this brand new snowdrop anemone was beginning to open. So delicate and beautiful, and a happy late fall surprise. A few clouds of yellow snapdragons were still brightening up some dark spaces. And I found another Peachleaf Bellflower hugging the clematis trellis. And a gratuitous gargoyle picture for Joy. Alastair is feeling rather expose...
