My Say and More: 2009-03-29

My Say and More. 47 years has shown me right and wrong and now it's time for me to give my opinion to the world. From sports to politics, religion to education, and everything else I shall have a say and more. Thursday, April 2, 2009. From the Chicago Tribune:. And others on corruption charges. 52, was arrested Dec. 9 and charged with engaging in pay-to-play politics in a sweeping federal complaint that accused him of trading state jobs, contracts and regulatory favors for campaign contributions. There i...

Friday, March 13, 2015. What Is A Prayer? In this world of unsocial media madness we often see the request for prayers. The reasons can be as varied as the people making the requests. This week I was asked to pray for a family member, let's call her, Mary Lou, because that's her actual name. She was having surgery. So friends and family were asked to pray that all would go well. I was happy to hear that all went well and Mary Lou would be fine. I was thinking about what a prayer is. I came up with th...

From Where I Sit...: Birthday Wishes and Dreams Come True
http://markploch.blogspot.com/2015/06/birthday-wishes-and-dreams-come-true.html
Sunday, June 07, 2015. Birthday Wishes and Dreams Come True. I don't know what happened to me. June 5th, 1975, I was a 9 year old kid playing with Johnny West cowboy "action figures". I was happy as could be. I went to bed excited because the next day was my 10th birthday. June 6th, 2015. I woke up and somehow 40 years had gone by. I was in a different bed and a different house. My Dad, my brother, all my Grandparents and most of my aunts and uncles were no longer living. But, how did this happen? Random...

Saturday, October 18, 2014. Farewell My Ploch Brother. Today marked the end of a very tough week for my family. As many had heard my brother Scott passed away Wednesday. He was 54. He had fought the Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) bravely and with dignity. He died peacefully in his own bed with his family at his side. My brother was a great writer. I am a hack compared to what he could and did do. I am going to try my best to get his writings online. More people need to see his works. It’s hard to ty...

Monday, December 22, 2014. Merry Christmas Clearance Poem. This morning I was looking at some files on my computer and found a Christmas poem I wrote 17 years ago. I was looking for one I wrote with my brother back in 1978, but this will do for now. I hope you will enjoy it. The Spirits and St. Nick. A distortion by Mark Plocharczyk. Twas the night before Christmas', when all through the bar,. The martinis were being shaken, not stirred in a jar. All the olives were stuffed with pimento and care,. He sai...

From Where I Sit...: You Can't Spell Trump Without Rump
http://markploch.blogspot.com/2015/07/you-cant-spell-trump-without-rump.html
Wednesday, July 22, 2015. You Can't Spell Trump Without Rump. As the presidential election marathon begins one must marvel at the current front runner, Donald Trump. The thought of him as the leader of the GOP pack has been rattling around my head. I think I have figured out an answer. Trump is doing a very American thing, saying what ever the hell he wants. In our ever so politically correct world, Trump has removed all filters. Assuming he had some to begin with. Eventually, their will only be a few le...

Sunday, January 23, 2011. Time flies and the blog sits still. I've been completely seduced by Facebook. I find my "extra" writing time being spent in FB having great "conversations" about everything with friends and family. Sometimes the "conversations" are deeper than the blue oceans or lighter than a helium balloon on Weight Watchers. Friday was another test of my fortitude or something, I'm not clear what though. I could go to the bathroom by myself. That's it. The sudden tilting threw my body backwar...

Thursday, July 17, 2014. LAPD On The Rocks. Happy July people. I know my blog is like an abandoned mall in Bagdhad. I'm sorry about that, but life trumps blogging. At least when I do blog you know its going to be important and not that I've switched from margarine back to butter. Nothing against margarine, but if I can't believe its not butter, why not just eat butter. But, I digress. Sadly, this organization honors all who have died in the line of duty. When Kori accepted the challenge she decided to ra...

Thursday, April 26, 2012. WE Are The Champions, Of The World. As many of you know I had a sad start to my week by learning a friend of mine from high school had passed away from ALS. She had mentioned to me, I was a hero to her. Those words floored me because I never think of myself that way, ever. I post my confusion on Facebook. I was additionally humbled by my friends and family's remarks. Just a few. Sorry for your loss, Mark! Then I received an email from another friend that knew my friend that had ...
