So I thought I would post a few pictures of our schmoozing before I tell of any of our adventures up in the alpine meadows with the Tibetan Yak herders. Monday, October 13, 2008. Our guide and the other herders we met are proud and independent, and continue to manage their lands in the way they think is best. Mine were a bit blistered and lot achy, but I guess thanks to $10 Smartwool socks and $100 Goretex hiking boots, they were not nearly in as bad of shape as Li Hong’s. Thursday, October 27, 2005. The nights we weren t camping, we stayed at a family s house inhabited by the parents, their 14 kids, and this big, mean, hairy tarantula. They claimed they found it under my bed.until I got sufficiently worked up. Then they claimed they found it in the storeroom. They had a good laugh at my expense and then killed it. Thursday, October 09, 2008. That morning we had to once again transform our our side of the hut, this time from our sleeping area into our breakfast area.
