Why Your Life Sucks. Friday, July 04, 2008. That's Great it Starts With an Earthquake . . . This project, W hy Your Life Sucks. The first R.E.M. album I bought was Fables of the Reconstruction. Purchased the year it came out, 1985. Admittedly, I bought it because I liked the album cover. I had been flipping through the cassettes at "That's Entertainment"- a local audio and video (yes, Beta! With the subsequent release of Documen. But it was with Automatic for the People. I loved New Adventures in Hi-Fi.

Why Your Life Sucks: April 2008

Why Your Life Sucks. Saturday, April 05, 2008. What's Wrong With This Picture? I took this picture in March of 2002. Overcome with frustration, disappointments, and meaninglessness, I quit my job for the second-to-the-last time and in a frenzy of Kerouac-ian inspired driving. Headed out to San Francisco to visit my friends. Where else but in the beautiful United States of America could you stand and photograph yourself in the four states of Arizona, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico. Life Goes On I Think.

Why Your Life Sucks: No One Could Have Imagined It
http://whyyourlifesucks.blogspot.com/2008/01/no-one-could-have-imagined-it.html
Why Your Life Sucks. Tuesday, January 08, 2008. No One Could Have Imagined It. Of course, it's a bit disingenuous for a politician to say that "No one could have imagined." After all, if they couldn't have imagined it themselves. Why would they have ever set out on that long, hard journey? But I don't want to be cynical at this time. Listening to Barack Obama. Tonight I was inspired and less afraid of our uncertain future. And I was happy for Hillary Clinton. Obama is a *wonderful* speaker, but he's not ...

Why Your Life Sucks: March 2008
http://whyyourlifesucks.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Why Your Life Sucks. Wednesday, March 12, 2008. I was visiting Baines up in Portland so we took a drive up to Seattle. I'd never been up in the Space Needle. So we decided to check it out. It was actually a beautiful day by Seattle standards and we had a wonderful view of the Puget Sound- over our shoulder there is where they filmed part of Sleepless in Seattle. As with all great attractions, you exit through the gift shop. I was particularly taken by these hats:. Always Open, Now Closed. View my complet...

The Prince of Folk Art, in North Carolina and shot some video of him talking about his vast art collection. One of my favorite artists that he collects is named Robert 7. I have one of his spoon men. Previously I posted a clip of Joe talking about his Chicken room. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Art of Robert 7. Life Goes On I Think. Bastardized Version by JHJ. View my complete profile.

Why Your Life Sucks: Why I'm No Longer Welcome at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

Why Your Life Sucks. Monday, September 22, 2008. Why I'm No Longer Welcome at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. I recently attended the Toronto International Film Festival. I've been before. A) A staircase going up to a door. B) A walkway leading to a ground-floor opening around the corner. The lounge is empty, but the gate attendant is still there at the scanner. I run up with my boarding pass in hand. "Little Rock? She asks in the shittiest tone possible. It was wrong. . I can throw...

Why Your Life Sucks. Monday, January 14, 2008. The Last Picture Show. In 1985 the Heights Theater closed its doors. Quite possibly it was due to the fact that they ran Ghostbusters. As, fittingly, the last picture show at the Heights Theater. Our combined age still would have made us one of the youngest people there, so it's no wonder that the guy from the newspaper took our picture, perched in our standard seats on the third row. I just came across that picture this past weekend. Whose demise was greatl...

Why Your Life Sucks: August 2007
http://whyyourlifesucks.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html
Why Your Life Sucks. Monday, August 27, 2007. You might have missed it last week. I nearly did. But Elvis is still dead, 30 years later. The week of August 17th in Memphis is known as " Dead Elvis Week. 160;I've been over twice to pay respects and view the spectacle. One year, after lots of beer and BBQ, my friends put a painting that my brother. What do you think about having the King practically buried in your backyard? Well, we know he's back there.". It was not lost on me then or now that what I wa...
