We decided to remember him by heading out to Vashon, a place rich with Barrentine history. (Even if we can’t find too much of it.) We visited the lighthouse at Point Robinson. Got coffee and drove around a bit stopping at the the tree that ate a bike. Found stones dad and Michelle bought in our names at the Vashon-Maury Island Heritage Museum. Wandering the streets of Dublin. July 19, 2007. VANCOUVER, B.C. — I am not pleased. Right now, I should be sleeping in my own bed at home. Instead, I am sitting in a hotel room in Vancouver, B.C. because British Airways can’t keep the trains moving on time. My last night in Dublin went well. I stopped by Gogarty’s and Knight’s bars because they always seemed to have some of the most reliable traditional music. I enjoyed my last pint of Guinness and walked across the alley to my hostel.
