Oh the pain, the pain of it all. Ever noticed how swimming lessons are cannily scheduled in to avoid being near lunchtime? Teachers know that you sh...

After attending the Assessment Training Institute in Portland, OR this summer, my principal has asked me develop a presentation about what I learned to faculty. THERE WAS SO MUCH, and my first draft was 30 slides. So we decided to break it into two parts: Assessment Fundamentals and Grading Practices. I have a hard time telling myself that I’m a good teacher. Colleagues and supervisors say it, but I find it difficult. I’ll say, Well, if they. Knew what was going on. But I think, ultimately, that mindset, despite being masochistic and mentally-unbalancing, is precisely what makes a teacher good, even great eventually. If you’re always ...In th...

Monday, January 25, 2010. I can't believe how big my baby girl is. It seems like time just flies and she is getting to be so big. I am so proud of the girl Faith is turning into. She is my little helper and people just love her. This year we let her have a party at a place of her choosing and she chose Retro Bowl. We all had such a good time. It was fun to watch Faith interact with all of her friends and see her have such a good time. Ashley and joe martin. Links to this post. Friday, December 25, 2009.
