Experiencing Grace and Peace: June 2009
http://experiencingraceandpeace.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Experiencing Grace and Peace. Wednesday, June 17, 2009. Freedom - Part II. Sunday night a group of people parted ways whose lives will never be the same - ever! A bunch of people from "the outside" left the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility to head back to their families, to their friends, to their jobs as people whose hearts were changed and lives will never be the same. The power struggle, signs of infallibility and toughness that Thursday afternoon showed were replaced on Saturday night by 40 inmates, ...

Experiencing Grace and Peace: January 2010
http://experiencingraceandpeace.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Experiencing Grace and Peace. Thursday, January 14, 2010. So there I was, braving bitter cold wind chills in the -20 range last week blowing out my driveway yet again after another onslaught of snow and wind filled the end of the drive. Bundled up in nearly every piece of clothing I could find, including facemask and hooded sweatshirt tied tightly so there was just a little window through which to see, I cleared a path - again. What do you want me to do with this, God? What am I going to do now, God?

Experiencing Grace and Peace: December 2008
http://experiencingraceandpeace.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Experiencing Grace and Peace. Wednesday, December 31, 2008. Count your blessings, Part II. Four weeks ago I penned "Count Your Blessings" on this site shortly after reading The Ten Dollar Blessing and being issued a ten dollar blessing challenge by another writer on the High Calling Blogs network. I believe the doxology goes something like this: "Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him all creatures here below; Praise Him above ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen". Bless...

Experiencing Grace and Peace: Plans
http://experiencingraceandpeace.blogspot.com/2009/12/plans.html
Experiencing Grace and Peace. Thursday, December 17, 2009. For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you; to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you.". One of my favorite verses! And that he will be found by us when we seek after him. Simply astonishing, isn't it? To say that they Spirit is alive and w...

Experiencing Grace and Peace: November 2009
http://experiencingraceandpeace.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Experiencing Grace and Peace. Thursday, November 5, 2009. I got up this morning the same way I do everyday. The routine was much the same, putting my pants on one leg at a time, etc., etc. On Sunday we heard a message preaching Ephesians 6, putting on the armor of God to defend ourselves from the devil’s evil schemes. Now I am a slow learner, but as it was preached on Sunday I was moved to an increasing sense of the need to put on my armor and to make use of it. It is no secret to anyone who has read thi...

Experiencing Grace and Peace: January 2009
http://experiencingraceandpeace.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Experiencing Grace and Peace. Wednesday, January 28, 2009. I Can Only Imagine. Late Saturday morning, I sat in a church in a small, rural community with tears running down my cheeks. I know I was not alone. But Saturday morning as I sat in that church pew with my wife and some friends along side, tears streamed down my face as the tune to the MercyMe song "I Can Only Imagine" began to play. Seated where I was, I could see Scott with his arm around his mother as they watched, listened and had to think...

Experiencing Grace and Peace: June 2010
http://experiencingraceandpeace.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Experiencing Grace and Peace. Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Great and unsearchable things. It has been so long, so much has happened that I can't even.rather don't even know where to start.so I will start at the present! I pound out this short piece this morning from another time zone. I am some 700 miles from home in beautiful downtown Holland, Michigan in a quaint little coffee shop this morning reflecting on God's goodness to me and mine. Where is he leading, what does all of this mean? Enough rambling....

Experiencing Grace and Peace: Be like a child
http://experiencingraceandpeace.blogspot.com/2009/12/be-like-child.html
Experiencing Grace and Peace. Friday, December 25, 2009. Be like a child. There is something about a child. I sit here on this Christmas morning in one of my favorite seats in the house. Mine is the only chair that gets to look the other five members of my family in the eye as we dine at this bar – my wife and four kids. Those images evoke feelings that only a parent can understand. Love, laughter, irritation, pride, thankfulness – and those are just a few. It reads in Luke 2:11. As Jesus grew and grew, ...

Experiencing Grace and Peace: September 2010
http://experiencingraceandpeace.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Experiencing Grace and Peace. Wednesday, September 22, 2010. Of pastries, protein and Scripture. Have you ever had a meal that you enjoyed so much that you didn’t want it to end? The meal was so delicious, so well prepared and everything was just right? Perhaps it was the perfect steak; an awesome pizza; pasta; or maybe dessert? I have many food weaknesses – cake and ice cream; really good wedding cake; apple crisp; peanut M and Ms; pastries, and much more! Yesterday marked a year of change in my life.

Experiencing Grace and Peace: February 2009
http://experiencingraceandpeace.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Experiencing Grace and Peace. Wednesday, February 11, 2009. The attack and the baby Jesus. He is so subtle, the enemy. Satan picks little, innocuous things that seem insignificant to so many to throw us off. Satan knows just when and where to attack, and always do so when huge things for the Kingdom are on the horizon. Last night, a thoughtful, well-intentioned phone message was left asking if I had remembered, of all things, popcorn! It isn't as if I don't have cooks to provide meals, or people to clean...
