Solutions | Joe Kisenwether's Blog

https://joekisenwether.wordpress.com/non-chess-retrograde-analysis/non-chess-retrograde-analysis-solutions

Joe Kisenwether's Blog. Just another WordPress.com weblog. If we number the squares like a push button phone, the first move was at 2, the last at 6. If O played last, then X can force a win by playing at 4. Since O is an expert, he would not have allowed this. Thus it was X that played last. Since each played has moved three times, this means that O went first. The last move must have completed a box for Leon, but not one for Noel, and it was therefor one of the four lines in the central. Most of these,...

Small World | Joe Kisenwether's Blog

https://joekisenwether.wordpress.com/2009/09/25/small-world

Joe Kisenwether's Blog. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Laquo; Moving Old Stuff. Last night I sent email to all the sites I could find which had linked to my original Retrograde Analysis page on Geocities, to let them know I’d moved it. I was really surprised by what I found. It had links from pages that were in English, Spanish, French, German, Turkish, and Japanese! Who knew that a short little throw-away page I slapped together way back when would have such international appeal? From your own site.

Joe Kisenwether's Blog. Just another WordPress.com weblog. In most Retrograde Analysis puzzles, the solver is presented with an arrangement of pieces on a chess board and must deduce something about what has happened previously in the game based on the position in which the pieces are currently found. Lots of good examples can be found here: http:/ www.janko.at/Retros/index.htm. In this two player game your opponent, who always makes the highest possible scoring word that she can, has just played. Wh...

2007 Road Trip | Joe Kisenwether's Blog

https://joekisenwether.wordpress.com/about

Joe Kisenwether's Blog. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Day 1 – June 29. Reno, NV to Salt Lake City, UT. Local Music: The Boogie Monsters, Reno based blues-funk band. Good stuff. Q: What do you get when you mix concrete with crazy people? A: Thunder Mountain Park. I’m particularly amused by this piece of “art” found off on a corner of the property away from the main building. Evidence of a cargo cult in north central Nevada? I guess that’s what happens when you put all your Basque in one exit. On the ...

JK's Adventure Page...

Sunday, June 7, 2015. The other day while sitting with a friend, he began questioning me about my adventures on foot. I began trying to find the words of describing a beautiful place I had been , when he interrupted me. He asked, "Does anything bad ever happen to you out there? I thought for a second, then with a bit of a chuckle, I replied. And then he interrupted me with, "WTF, why the hell do you do it? And I thought once again and could only come up with' "Because its fun.". Posted by Joe Kisner.
