abaluba: Valley Pics
http://patrickpharo.blogspot.com/2011/10/valley-pics.html
Monday, October 10, 2011. I'd like to post a few good pictures from the last week or so. Basically, we had a bit of a storm blow through Yosemite last week and shut things down for a while. In the interim, the crew, now swollen to include the Brothers Kauffman, drove down to Bishop in search of sun and boulders. We found some of the former, and lots of the latter. And now, more pics (most by Neil Kauffman of Planet Kauffman. Waiting out snow in between tries. Sunset at The Happy Boulders. The final headw...

The extraordinary adventures of average climbers. The Red Pillar →. February 15, 2011. He asked, sounding surprised. I admired his austerity. Two looser, easier pitches brought us to the col below the headwall, where Pete took over the lead for three of the best pitches I’ve climbed in the alpine. We started rappelling around 1 PM and reached our packs a couple of hours later after re-climbing a pitch to free stuck ropes. Calories were replenished as we discussed our next moves. maxwell silver: September 2010
http://maxhasson.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 26, 2010. Shortly after returning from Oregon this spring I wandered up to the top of the Guillotine and rapped in for a solo inspection. I felt stronger on the moves and slowly pieced together a sequence through the crux. The next step was to borrow a power drill and make it lead-able. This process proved to be unexpectedly difficult. In the end it took two trips with the bolt gun to prep the route in a way that satisfied my desire for safety while not “over-bolting.”. My snowshoe catc...
