Chinese Wax: The Great Wall
http://chinesewax.blogspot.com/2007/06/great-wall.html
It's been about a month and a half since I got back from China. I've been talking about updating my blog so here it is! The pictures below are from the Simatai Section of the Great Wall. Tigist, Michael and I paid much more than we should have to this travel agency to take us there but in the end, it was all worth it. Inside one of the towers. Posted by Chinese Wax. But anyway, one of the things I love about living in N Carolina is early voting! I voted this past Friday and am anxiously awaiting the election results. Am on call today and had to be here at 7 this morning but thanks to Daylight Savings Time, got an extra hour of sleep last night. Have only done one case so far. More to come tonight am sure. Chinese Wax: Lumpia
http://chinesewax.blogspot.com/2009/01/lumpia.html
This past ML King weekend, I had a chance to fly home for Jenni and Brad's baby shower, which was a lot o' fun! I was talking to Chris and Brandi about blogs and such and they kinda inspired me to start updating this again. So, this entry is dedicated to them. One of the most fun weekends I had when I first moved to NC was hanging out with them (and baby Jack! But anyway, I remember Chris really liking the sauce I made for fresh lumpia (a Filipino version of spring rolls which is just laden with goodness).

We don't have a wedding date set yet, although this is THE number one question I get these days, aside from, "where's your ring? PS There is a real ring but was too big so it is still being sized down, but it sure is pretty. So I guess I will be marrying my best friend! Posted by Chinese Wax. Links to this post. I heart this painting. I think this is one of Mike's strongest works and is definitely my favorite (so far). He is forever creating and I can't wait to see what he conjures up next! Chinese Wax: Graduation Day
http://chinesewax.blogspot.com/2007/05/graduation-day.html
Posted by Chinese Wax. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I started this blog as a 4th year medical student while on an international rotation in China. I wanted to be able to document my experiences there and be able to share them with my friends and family. I am now in my second year of anesthesiology residency and enjoy my job most days. I do love living in North Carolina and look forward to my days off! View my complete profile. Gallery: Favorite Jazz Fest Eats.

Chinese Wax: April 2007

April 29, 2007. Xin, our trusty old guide/interpreter and now good friend, had wanted us to buy KFC before boarding the train but we just ran out of time plus there was a huge line! We didn't do much last night. Got a dinner at a nearby Chinese restaurant. What a change from the first time we tried to order food from a restaurant! In front of Sun Yat Sen's portrait in Tiananmen Square. He is loved by many Chinese, both Communist and Kuomintang. We bought these cheesy Chinese flags from a vendor&#...Tiana...
