There comes a day in every Peace Corps service when the volunteer begrudgingly realizes that they're a different person than they came in as. Dirtier, weirder, cheaper, increasingly culturally irrelevant and a terrible failure at the English language. Peace Corps ruins the standards you once held yourself to. Absolutely destroys them.
