Also known as Wadi Ghul, or the Grand Canyon of Arab, is a rough and adventurous route to the bottom of Jebel Sham, the highest peak of Oman. This journey was during Eid Fitri holiday with 3 French colleagues. We rented 4WD Nissan Patrol at the airport and started the journey. 1 Friendly People of Oman. 2 Swimming at the Pools at Wadi ash Shab. 3 Driving into Wadi an Nakhur. Back to Main Page.

Joel in Oman 2008. Journey to the land of Wadi and welcoming people (30 September – 3 October 2008). Grand Mosque (Sultan Qaboos Mosque). Located not far from the Airport, this beautiful mosque was built by the king Sultan Qaboos to mark his 30th year of reign. The Persian carpet inside 60m x 70m, is the largest in the world, made by 600 women in 4 years. Wear trousers when visiting, otherwise, like my three musketeers, they had to wait in the car when I admired the mosque…: ). 1 Friendly People of Oman.

It was our first trekking and pool swimming in Oman in our second day on the way to Nizwa from Muscat. This journey was during Eid Fitri holiday with 3 French colleagues. Nakhal, a city located in the northern downhill of western Hajar Mountain, is famous for the fort and hot springs. We visited on the first day afternoon after siesta. Around 2 hours drive from Muscat. This journey was during Eid Fitri holiday with 3 French colleagues.
