Daily I meet first time Cerro Alto hikers who tell me they were not aware. Of how difficult or the distance involved making the summit . Thus many of these hikers fail to reach the summit . Photos taken last week , the day after the thunder and rain storm ., Below we see Cerro Alto from highway 41 . The weather was cold and damp , windy . The trails were wet , the air fresh , smells beautiful . The fog engolphed us near the top. My dog Sierra loved the water on the trails . The mountain got several inches of rain but needs much much more .
