joe tulips quilts: February 2015
http://joetulipsquilts.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
And other things too. Sunday, February 1, 2015. Last fall, 12 of us made 2 blocks for an exchange. They all have the same gray background and a solid. We exchanged them in December. January was spent setting these. I had 7 strips of gray fabric. Each was 2 1/2 by the width of fabric. I found this frame in the book. Setting Solutions by Sharyn Craig. In the book it is for a finished 6 inch block. I had to do some math. One strip made one frame with a little left over. Buying some here and there. I am a ge...

And other things too. Friday, June 26, 2015. Going backwards through June. I finished hand sewing about 3/4 of the binding for this quilt. It is part of the block exchange at the Blue Earth Valley Quilters. There were 12 of us in this. Next week we all get together and show each other what became of the 24 blocks we received. I'm looking forward to seeing all the different takes on the blocks. These are April Block Lotto blocks I won! It is already late, so I'm taking my time. We went camping again. ...

And other things too. Monday, December 29, 2014. Block lotto inspired.and finished! It isn't next year yet, but here I am. I need to get these two quilts posted before I forget again. I always wanted to get a better picture, You know the kind of picture where the quilt doesn't have feet. And maybe, no shadow of my head. I guess it doesn't really matter, does it? Patterns for the birds and hearts. Bird block click here). Heart block click here). I played block lotto by myself and made star-crossed blocks.

And other things too. Saturday, October 25, 2014. Last summer Jane (my sister) and Max (my cousin) thought it would be a really fun to go to Winterset, Iowa. So much to see there! Karen and I said we would go too. Last weekend we made the road trip. Planners in the front seat, tag alongs in the back seat. We saw all the bridges, John Waynes birthplace, Fon's and Porter quilt shop, a local winery, and ate at the Northside Cafe and other stuff! The Bridges of Madison County. I would open it and hit. And th...

And other things too. Sunday, August 2, 2015. My cousin Max has me sucked into the Row by Row Experience. The Winnebago is from The Quilted Forest in Forest City where they make the motorhomes. When they gave me the pattern, I was in a hurry and only half listened to what I was being told about Row by Row. Then Max was sending me photos of kits she was finding. When I finally investigated and saw done quilts with all the rows, I fell in love with them. Land of sky blue waters. More left over sections fro...

Weekend Wisdom: February 2013
http://weekendwisdom.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Just my musings about life, quilting, my family and my dog. Tuesday, February 26, 2013. What I'm listening to. Judy, over at Patchwork Times. Has started a new weekly thing asking us to write about what we're reading. Well, while I rarely read a physical book, I am almost never without a novel on my iPod. I get so much "reading" done this way and I don't have to choose between quilting and reading - I can do BOTH at the same time! That's very much of a win-win in my book (Pun intended! Lazy Gal Quilting: November 2011
http://lazygalquilting.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
The life of an UnRuly Quilter. Sunday, November 20, 2011. I finished my Legos top and love how it turned out. This is Ellis Island:. While I sewed, I realized I was making a quilter's Ellis Island. (Ellis Island was the port of entry into the United States way back before airplanes). You know, send me your tired, your poor, your wretched refuse. All those unwanted (fabrics). The name's a bit formal for this loud fun quilt, but still appropriate. There really are some uuugly fabrics in here. Back to the l...

Tuesday, October 7, 2014. Woven bar blocks and Modern Sampler. I made just 2 woven bar blocks for the October Block Lotto drawing, but I think they're pretty sweet and wouldn't mind winning them. I also whipped up 4 more in blue and white fabrics for my Mod Mod Sample quilt. I'm really enjoying putting together the sampler and am excited to see it finished. Links to this post. BrooklynQuilter: Tiny quilt: It's a Hen
http://brooklynquilter.blogspot.com/2015/04/tiny-quilt-its-hen.html
Friday, April 10, 2015. Tiny quilt: It's a Hen. Here's a tiny quilt, which I think is also called a mug rug, that I speed-sewed this afternoon as a hostess gift for a friend who's hosting a "hen party" tomorrow afternoon. I had just gotten a copy of A Quilter's Ark. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). More of Ginny's books ». View my complete profile. Quiltvilles Quips and Snips! What a Load a Scrap. And other things too. Tuesday, August 15, 2017. Long time gone progress. It has been a long time since I worked on Long Time Gone! Busy with other stuff that sometimes was and sometimes wasn't quilting related. These were the last blocks I worked on before setting it all aside. One thing I did was go through fabric and put smaller pieces into color piles. I love the way they look. They are getting used in Long Time Gone and then I have more plans for them. That will have to wait for now. So tractor joe a...
