Heavy Denim: Oi Polloi + Reebok | Magical Mystery Trainers
http://heavydenim.blogspot.com/2015/06/oi-polloi-reebok-magical-mystery.html
Monday, 22 June 2015. Oi Polloi Reebok Magical Mystery Trainers. It's an interesting way to launch a trainer, not to give away a single detail. But that's exactly what the guys at Oi Polloi. For their latest collaboration there's no pictures. No details, just a silhouette of a shoe and a list of sizes. The shoe in question looks like a Stan Smith, but this time they're collaborating with Reebok. Although granted, Reebok are owned by adidas - so no harm there, surely). Heavy Denim: Photography in gaming | GTA 5
http://heavydenim.blogspot.com/2015/06/photography-in-gaming-gta-5.html
Tuesday, 23 June 2015. Photography in gaming GTA 5. The game, not the crime) has come along was since its first incarnation. Where a tiny couple of ginger-haired pixels ran around jacking car-shaped oblongs. At the time, GTA. Especially as all I had to compare it to was the dot matrix Game Boy. Screen I stared myopically at, twiddling the contrast dial until all six dots of Mario. Before they all become little more than voice-over artists. My copy of GTA 5. Is on the PS3. Firing up the Hipstamatic. Heavy...

Heavy Denim: Admiral | Iconic Heritage Sportswear
http://heavydenim.blogspot.com/2015/07/admiral-iconic-heritage-sportswear.html
Monday, 13 July 2015. Admiral Iconic Heritage Sportswear. I've never been a suit and tie sort of guy. Even at school, I wore black jeans instead of the regulation trousers. What can I say? Just a middle class rebel without a cause, I guess. Now don't get me wrong, I like a suit. I own three, it turns out; but when the weather's hot, we can't all be a Top Grain. And keep our shirt and tie buttoned up to eleven. Where am I going with this? I'm a fan and not least because I'm a sucker for a polo shirt.

Heavy Denim: Barbour x Deus-Ex Machina | Menswear meets motocycles
http://heavydenim.blogspot.com/2015/01/barbour-x-deus-ex-machina-menswear.html
Monday, 5 January 2015. Barbour x Deus-Ex Machina Menswear meets motocycles. 2014 was a year of collaborations for Barbour. They turned the level up to the max, picking to work with some straight-up menswear brands as well as more unconventional ones too. All made for suitable pairings. Did anyone get their hands on the adidas collab. That stuff will surely be worth a packet by 2020. As 2014 came to a close, Barbour hooked up with Australian motorcycle lifestyle brand Deus-Ex Machina. Heavy Denim is a fa...

Heavy Denim: Broughton Boots | Relaunching a family tradition
http://heavydenim.blogspot.com/2014/12/broughton-boots-relaunching-family.html
Monday, 8 December 2014. Broughton Boots Relaunching a family tradition. There's definitely a growing interest in the provenance and heritage of clothes. While well-established brands are looking back through their archives to revise, update, reuse and rejuvenate styles from previous eras, many brands that are just starting out are taking inspiration from the past too. Is one such brand. Established by the guys responsible for Cubitts glasses. Made to order in a Northampton factory. Made in the UK. Life ...

Heavy Denim: ISYB + Liberty London | Collaboration
http://heavydenim.blogspot.com/2015/07/isyb-liberty-london-collaboration.html
Monday, 6 July 2015. ISYB Liberty London Collaboration. Although I've only visited once - to see some carved wooden gargoyles. Even I can recognise a print from Liberty London. When I see one. They're bold, colourful, and often quirky. Fortunately, for those who like them, they seem to be on display in a fair few places now - not just their (justifiably) busy store in Soho. Last year we spotted some Christys' caps flying the Liberty prints. These bright tees, with the Liberty print pocket. Simple templat...

Heavy Denim: Store Visit | Percival, London
http://heavydenim.blogspot.com/2015/01/store-visit-percival-london.html
Wednesday, 21 January 2015. Store Visit Percival, London. Any time I visit London, my “downtime" blurs into my “uptime” (is that a word? It seems like it’s a done-deal now that Nik and I will no doubt end up searching for new, interesting, and curious shops to visit, no matter what area of London we find ourselves in. Percival is one of those brands we came across on our latest walk around Soho. Seriously, how confusing is that place? It’s like a maze. As a brand - featuring them on Buckets and Spades.
