The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is the latest visit to Middle Earth and is based on JRR Tolkien's book of the same name. As usual, I saw the 2D version as I'm not willing to spend money on an experiment that might not work (that. S my use of the 3D glasses, not 3D film. That seems to be a lost battle:-) . Random musings, things that have taken my eye and anything else I'm commenting on :-). Thursday, 28 October 2010. Is the blob in the sky a UFO or not? Well, actually not. It's just a plane coming into the nearby local airport but for the few seconds that its course had it heading almost directly towards me it gave quite a good impression of an unidentified light just hanging there. Although not particularly uncommon this was particularly impressive as it broke through the band of dark cloud.

The middle section of the trilogy made out of JRR Tolkien’s rather modest book hit cinemas around the world this week with a film clocking in at almost three hours. Way cool. Throughout the latter part of film, the effect of Thorin’s obsession with the arkenstone in particular and the treasure in general was nicely effected. Links to this post.
