Monday, June 15, 2009. Day Fifteen Palatine Bridge to Toledo, Ohio. Ryan and John ride bicycles around Niagara Falls. Starting in the Adirondack Mountains in Palatine Bridge, passing the Erie Canal, and most of beautiful Upstate New York, Niagara Falls and through Cleveland Ohio to Toledo. Wednesday, June 3, 2009. Grand Canyon to Cortez and Monument Valley. Third day started with quick breakfast at Holiday Inn Express in Tusayan near Grand Canyon. Gas and go for a wonderful trip north-east along the south rim for nearly fifty miles then east into Utah to Navajo territory and the Scenic Monument Valley. Many movies and commercials have been filmed here over the years, including westerns by John Ford and thrillers with Tom Cruise - remember him climbing at the beginning of Mission Impossible.

Dave and Mary Lou Ahlering were wonderful hosts in Glenview and they pointed us toward one of their favorites, on the lake in Wisconsin. Ryan and I checked into the Heidel House Inn for a lakeside villa room. Wow, and then dinner at Norton's Restaurant. We also put in a few miles on the bikes! Glad we brought the bikes along.
