It was very pleasant even though the weather was very cloudy and gloomy. John and Bev's Travels. Tuesday, September 7, 2010. Tuesday, 7 September - Amsterdam. This is our post for Tuesday 7 Sept. This afternoon, the cruise got under weigh. Not long ago we crossed the German border on our way to Cologne. This evening was very pleasant. It was the evening of the Captain's Welcome Dinner. The food was exquisite and the wine flowed like there was no tomorrow. I have to say that the Scenic people do not stint when in comes to keeping your wineglass full. September 17 and 18.

John and Bev's Travels. Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Sorry no pictures today. The bug I picked up on the boat finally hit with a vengeance. I have developed one of my usual heavy colds, with lots of coughing particularly at night which means no sleep for either of us. However, I went to the Chemist today and he gave me some paracetamol tablets which should also dry up the cough. So far they are working. The hotel, the Radisson SAS, is first rate. It just around the corner from Wenceslas Square.
