Thursday, August 13, 2009. Happy 1 Year Anniversary for Our Liver Surgery! It has been exactly one year since we had the Liver Surgery on August 14. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our family, friends, doctor and nurses that helped us while we recovered from the Liver Transplant. Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Christine just had a doctors appointment yesterday and the doctor states that she is progressing well. Christine seems to get a bit stronger every day and she is now 90 pounds. The Doctors is scheduled to remove her staples next week and she seems to be doing much better! Her daily medications (25 pills) were previously making her a bit ill but she seems to be managing it much better recently. Hope everyone else is enjoying this nice weather! Monday, April 15, 2013. Minor Setback - Back at Mount Sinai. Christine has been recovering well these last few months but on Friday, Christine had a mild fever which turned into fever / chills and when her temperature reached 103.4 on Saturday Morning, we had to bring her to the emergency room to be monitored. Christine has been admitted to the Mount Sinai and the doctors are running blood tests and cultures to see why her white blood cell count is low which might have caused an infection. Wednesday, April 24, 2013. Just a small update that Christine was in the hospital all last week and they were monitoring her white blood cell count which was low. They think she got a infection because her immune system was low. It seems that the medicine was lowering her white blood cell count so they reduced some of her medicine in order to increase the white blood cell count and she was cleared to come home on Saturday, April 20th. Christine seems to have recovered nicely and is back at work. As luck ...

Monday, July 1, 2013. Happy 6 Month Anniversayr. Christine celebrated her 6 month anniversary of her new liver transplant on June 28th, 2013. We wish to thank everyone for their support through these tough times. Christine has recovered much better and has gone back to work fulltime. Hope everybody has a great summer! So far, we've made a paper chain to count down to Christmas, decorated a gingerbread house, had hot cocoa and watched "The Polar Express," and put up our Christmas tree. Welcome to our page! We decided to create a blog to keep family members up-to-date about our newest addition to the family Arya Nicole Hurley. John is currently enrolled at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary College and just last year graduated from Franciscan Univeristy of Steubenville.
