What a building, well for Melbourne at least. I know that Europe and other nations have buildings that are much grander and mush older. However that does not detract from the stately entrance to a once banking area. There is a photo from that era available for viewing just behind where I stood to take this shot. Blending a few flower images | John Holding

Blending a few flower images. Today I picked a number of anemone flowers photographed each one individually and loaded the lot into Photoshop. Then it was time to sit down and extract each flower from its background and paste into a new blank page. Some were selected for scaling to a different size and some were selected so that there was more transparency so that flowers placed behind would show slightly. With a few more adjustments and a little bit of work with the eraser tool I ended up with this.

Taking a few macro shots. Today I found a little jumping spider which in my opinion are rather cute with those great big eyes up front that look like old car headlights. However today I found the spider with its spun hidy-hole so I brought the leaf and spider inside where I could use a big strobe. Not much to say about this really, from country Victoria early in the morning with a bit of fog around. Did try for an evening shot but I was too late to make it worthwhile standing on the side of a narrow road. Dawn on the coast. On the Gold Coast of Australia up nice and early for the sunrise. Little to no surf and just golden glow as the sun rises. Simple scene conveys the peace of dawn very nicely.
