All your are belong to me…. Inaugural recap (or, Woohoo! January 24, 2009. Simultaneously the coldest and most heartwarming experience I’ve ever had…. Although it’s cheesy to go on about how positive. We stood as close to the Washington Monument during the ceremony as was possible (they had a railing barricade just inside the circle of flags), and could see a jumbotron, the Capital dome, and the White House without even having to lean in a different direction. It was a beautiful day. 8221; …huh? You are...

Too much writing: Rethinking thinking
http://695cult.blogspot.com/2009/03/rethinking-thinking.html
A blog of random thoughts and ideas generated as part of a class assignment for a PhD course at the University of Tennessee. Thursday, March 12, 2009. I really enjoyed the article I read for this week. It had plenty of good ideals in it. The only issue I took with it is that it kept implying that online collaborative learning needed to be studies from a developmental research approach, but never quite suggested how one would go about taking that approach. How do I deliver a lecture online? The article po...

Learning & the Internet: IT 695 - Week 6 - Prior Knowledge
http://krobin26.blogspot.com/2009/02/week-6-prior-knowledge.html
Learning and the Internet. Thursday, February 26, 2009. IT 695 - Week 6 - Prior Knowledge. Reading: Schwartz, D. L., Sears, D., and Chang, J. (2007). Reconsidering prior knowledge. In M.C. Lovett and P. Shah (Eds.) Thinking With Data (pp. 319-344). New York: Erlbaum. I found the ideas about learning as reconciliation interesting. Plato’s learning paradox is defined: people cannot learn something if they don’t already know it in some form, so is new knowledge even a possibility? Ah, yes it is! IT 695 - We...

695 new media discussion: Cloud computing & distributed cognition
http://695fan.blogspot.com/2009/02/cloud-computing-distributed-cognition.html
695 new media discussion. Thursday, February 26, 2009. Cloud computing and distributed cognition. Somehow I connect these two concepts. Let's see distributed cognition first. After 3 weeks' reading, I guess now we all agree that:. 1 it is a cognition process distributing between individuals and groups. 2 cognition process connect internal (human) and external (invironment, including tools, aids to enhance cognition). 3 cognition across time and space. (prolong cognition). February 26, 2009 at 2:48 PM.

https://mimble1.wordpress.com/about
All your are belong to me…. 10 random things about me. I like bulleted lists. They’re not as restrictive as numbered lists, but they still maintain order. I discovered relatively recently that I’m incredibly boring and linear. I would like to own a bearded dragon some day. I think my dream job would be as an analyst for the Congressional Research Service, examining and helping to craft domestic social policy (education/technology, family rights issues). speaking of boring…. I do not equate linear with b...

All your are belong to me…. February 5, 2009. Even before I began my master’s program a few years ago, I was very interested in information literacy–particularly in. People learn how to find and make sense of information… I’ve always felt adept at locating relevant information quickly and efficiently, but, in the same way that I don’t remember actually. By what means do we. How do we assess someone’s ability to locate and evaluate quality information in a timely manner? February 5, 2009 at 4:38 pm.

All your are belong to me…. February 17, 2009. The O’Reilly Radar. Posted a great interview with Clay Shirky. Where he talks about the economics of group action, job-related stuff, and the importance of ambitious/flexible business models. I was particularly interested in his comments about “information overload” and what that means for searching/filtering online… The video’s about 18 minutes long, and I think it’s worth checking out.
