I was in Mesnes Park in Wigan by 9am, complete with my Fuji X-E2 camera and a recently purchased Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Lydith 30mm manual lens, made around 1960! I love using old manual lenses on my cameras, it makes me do the work, rather than just pointing and clicking! Photography By John Barton. Thursday, 21 July 2016. Sawley Abbey, near Clitheroe. Josie and I went to this English Heritage maintained Abbey to see the ruins. There just happened to be a wonderful Country Inn called The Spread Eagle 100 yards away too, so an excellent fish and chip lunch ensued after climbing the ruins! Wednesday, 20 July 2016. I went across to my favourite area as I knew the fields of Wheat were looking golden and ripe, and was just in time to see the harvest begin! Three In A Line.

As the mist lingered on into the afternoon and the watery Sun in a blue sky warmed the day, I went to one of my favourite local areas for some atmospheric images. I have used a mixture of Velvia colour, Acros black and white, and Tonality tones to create different effects on the images here. Fuji X-T2, 10-24mm and 60mm Fuji lenses. Thursday, 27 October 2016. Photography By John Barton. Friday, 30 September 2016. Billinge Plantation, a Woodland Trust area. I only discovered this local site last year, so decided to visit just as Autumn is approaching to catch the change. It was an extremely windy afternoon with acorns and branches flying about, so my visit was shorter than planned! I used my Fuji X-T1 with two manual lenses, a lovely old Asahi 50mm and a Samyang 12mm. Tuesday, 20 September 2016. Long Wall Wood Sunset, Winstanley. Here are the results!

Photography By John Barton. Wednesday, 10 February 2016. Brockholes Wildlife Trust site. I took advantage of a clear, crisp day and went to this wetland/wildlife centre near Preston today. The calm lake gave me a chance for my favourite 'reflections' images, and using a 'long' lens gave me a chance to create some bokeh (aesthetic blur) shots too.
