A List of Places I would Like to Go. Saturday, June 28, 2008. Thunder Over Louisville, Louisville, Kentucky. I'm not big on fireworks, but if you're going to go see some, why not make it "the largest annual fireworks display in North America." This is how the Kentucky Derby weekend starts. I guess the good people of Louisville realized their big event of the year needs to be longer than the couple minutes it takes to run a race. By the way, Louisville looks like a pretty cool town.
