Donderdag 6 januari 2011. Vandaag scheiden onze wegen zich. John blijft op het kinderdorp en haalt een huilend kind met snottebel even uit z'n bedje tot hij kalmeert en hij probeert wat met de verzorgsters te communiceren. Het is soms net "hints" het tv-spel uit de jaren 80. Vandaag is ook de kinderarts dr. Nathalie op het kinderdorp. Interview in de tuin van minister. Woensdag 5 januari 2011. Overkomt je dat ook wel eens? Dat je iets getypt hebt en dat je niet op tijd hebt opgeslagen en er iets fout gaat zodat je tekst kwijt bent? Dat overkwam mij (John) na het schrijven van een half A4 tekst voor dit blog. Daar gaan je prachtige volzinnen! Helaas, het leven van een stukkie schrijver gaat niet over rozen. Misschien voelt een Haïtiaan dit wel als er weer iets niet lukt. Johan Smoorenburg gaat dus persoonlijk een hele papierwinkel afleveren bij het ministerie van volksg...

Donderdag 13 januari 2011. Heerlijk in het zonnetje ontbeten. Jojanneke, de verpleegkundige die we gisteren hier ontmoeten, kwam nog even koffie drinken en foto’s bekijken. Erg leuk verder bijgepraat. Haar hierna uitgezwaaid bij de poort. We hebben samen met Johan het filmpje over de psychiatrie op het Belgische journaal bekeken. De Belgen hebben 1½ uur beeld en geluid in enkele uren bewerkt tot een indrukwekkend document van 2,5 minuut. Chapeau! Centre de Formation Professionel de Juvenile de Lilavois.

Vrijdag 21 januari 2011. Laatste dagen en afscheid. Hierna zijn we verder gereden door de buurt rondom het kinderdorp om de huisjes te zien die Gert-Jan en andere vrijwilligers gebouwd hebben. Het was toch weer schrijnend om de leefomgeving te zien waar mensen proberen te overleven. Mensen zijn blij, maar vragen toch ook elke keer of er nog wat bij kan. Logisch toch? Door het besef dat je sommigen wellicht niet meer terug zou zien anders dan in de hemel moest ik wel even een traantje wegpinken. Diep resp...

Vrijdag 14 januari 2011. Om 800 uur waren we in de nursery, de babyafdeling, want dan zouden de tweeling de fles krijgen. Beetje jammer dat ze al gedronken hadden toen we kwamen. Sommige tantes(verzorging) keken wel wat argwanend maar we hebben ze toch maar weer uit de wieg gehaald om even met ze te knuffelen. Na een uur rijden kwamen we bij het strand, dat wil zeggen, bij een resort waar je $10 entree moest betalen om van de faciliteiten gebruik te mogen maken.
