Froogville: Dying in harness
http://froogville.blogspot.com/2010/11/dying-in-harness.html
Overspill of an irreverent mind. Sunday, November 28, 2010. I was reflecting the other day on my first career as a schoolmaster (nearly twenty years ago now: it seems another life, someone else's, not my own). Why the first page of your manuscript is so dang important. Just briefly, because I am up to my tailbone in manuscripts. Heaps and heaps and heaps of manuscripts. At the moment, all of them fiction. 90% of them debut novels. All of their authors hoping desperately for a book deal, for a home for their beloved novel. I think thi...
