There will be one Traveling Trophy for both FIRE and POLICE and then an Trophy will be awarded to the overall winner; FIRE or POLICE that will remain on site at the Shawnee Fire Department or Shawnee Police Department until we race against each other again next year. The start was very emotional and inspiring. I am grateful for each and every firefighter and police officer who risk their lives to protect the public. It was an amazing turnout for being the first race. I can not wait until next years race! It was a great event for the community and the emergency services family. Thanks Beth, Troy and Brad for your efforts. GOD BLESS JOHN GLASER! It was by far, one of the best events - and a great tribute.

Fire Station 71 Headquarters 6501 Quivira Shawnee, KS. Online Registration- Click Here. Course Map Click Here. Mail In Registration: 6501 Quivira Road Shawnee, KS. 5K Run Registration fee:. 30 by August - October 2nd. 35 at packet pickup or same day registration. Kids 100 Yard Dash. Following the race we will have the kids 100 yard dash from the top of 65th Street through the Finish Line. This does not require a registration. Kids will line up once it is announced.

John Bradford Glaser was a firefighter with the Shawnee Fire Department who died May 22, 2010, in the line of duty while attempting a rescue in a structure fire. He was a 1995 graduate of Blue Valley Northwest High School and earned his BA degree in 2000 from the University of Kansas, where he was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.
