John Henshall the artist - born 1913 died 1996
JOHN HENSHALL the ARTIST. Was a talented and prolific artist who was born in Stockport, Cheshire, England in 1913 and died in the same town in 1996. His work was across many media - including watercolours, oils, scraper-board, lettering and calligraphy. He was also an inspired teacher who taught many other artists and young people in the Manchester and North Wales areas. He turned full-time professional in 1957, moving back to Stockport and thereafter earning his livelihood entirely from his art.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society (FRPS), a Fellow of the British Institute of Professional Photography (FBIPP), a Fellow of the British Professional Photographers Associates (FBPPA) and a Fellow of the Guild of Television Cameramen (FGTC). In 2009 he was awarded an honorary degree by the University for the Creative Arts.
