She took rainbow fruit cups to school and her teacher read the birthday book before the whole class sang to her. (So much energy in a Kindergarten class! She brings so much color, light and joy into our lives! It was a gorgeous spring evening and we were finally able to successfully watch a movie outside!

The end of the school year brought a whirlwind of activities: Muffins with Mom, Year-End Celebrations, (Abram was awarded the Lifesaver Award for always helping someone in need. Awww! In June, we took an extended trip to South Dakota for John to paint Dad’s barn. It was great opportunity to spend time with Dad, let the kids play on the farm and connect with family and friends. Teaching middle school, I feel myself wrestling with middle school feelings that I didn't really know about before. I really believed that I didn't care what people thought of me. Standing in front of my classroom, I have to squelch the desire to be liked by the cool, powerful kids. I have to quiet my laughter at the awkward kids. Sunday, December 21, 2008. European Christmas, version .9. I didn't have time to feel relieved. I grabbed my scarf and jacket and power-walked my way to the train station. Luckily through a combination of this extreme walking pace and a slightly fast watch, I made it to the train station in ten minutes leaving about four minutes until my train left. So far so good.
