Art Should Never be Restored! Posted by johnkobeck on March 18, 2018 with No Comments. For me, a work of art is never finished. Good art should never be restored. The work is always changing and evolving. If a work of art is good it persists through time. If allowed to persist, it changes and evolves and eventually decomposes. And this too is art! A restoration is not really what its intended to be. How can we return the Sistine Chapel to its original state as Michelangelo painted it in 1508?
