Sunday, 19 June 2011. Our long-awaited degree show finally opened on Friday night, and I have to say, it was a fantastic evening. Hundreds came to view the work on display - including my own - and plenty of beer and wine was consumed in the process. I was really surprised at the turn out, and excited to see what responses we would get towards our work. This little beast is what I have been working on for the past week. I hate essays and I am totally crap at writing formally, so for my dissertation I produced a personal study where I could write as I felt. The subject of my study was Women in Design. So have a little look or a read or both. Really dark and everything I was expecting and wanting. Natalie Portman was quite flawless,. I found the subtly common themes like the use of mirrors, skin and scratching. Made me jump / squirm quite a few times.
