Generational Inspiration | Reflections
https://gwcook.wordpress.com/2014/03/21/generational-inspiration
Finding Inspiration – Everywhere! It was 1978 when I first heard Kate Bush sing – and I was completely transfixed by this weird, beguiling, and immensely talented woman. While most of my 14 year old contemporaries were listening to the soundtracks from Grease and Saturday Night Fever, I was finding inspiration in the lyrics of a song based on a Bronte novel! Building Imagination | Reflections
https://gwcook.wordpress.com/2014/02/13/building-imagination
Finding Inspiration – Everywhere! I was never really “into” Lego. We definitely had some around the house and I remember Grandma having a knock off version that we sometimes played with when we stayed with them. But I found the hard little coloured bricks just really damn frustrating! I think my imagination far outweighed my motor abilities – I was just never able to create what my mind saw. But I think we’re going to need a bigger storage locker…. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

Many Happy Returns | Reflections

Finding Inspiration – Everywhere! 8220;Romper, bomper, stomper boo. Tell me, tell me, tell me, do. Magic Mirror, tell me today, have all my friends had fun at play? But then a shift happens again. You start to see milestones in a whole new light, or is that enlightened way? Maybe I held on to more of the magic from that Romper Room mirror than I thought. Who knew? Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Shagalicious Baby! | Reflections
https://gwcook.wordpress.com/2014/02/10/shagalicious-baby-2
Finding Inspiration – Everywhere! The 70s – truly a funky time for home decor. But it afforded me my first job – shag rug raker. Shag rugs clearly meant you had some fashion sense – Mary Tyler Moore’s apartment had it wall to wall, but our house was something else altogether. It was a shag rug showroom. I really give my folks credit for seeing past the multi colour carpeting when they purchased the place. I’m not sure that I could have! A funny coda to this rug reminiscence – when David and I bough...

Social Curiosity | Reflections
https://gwcook.wordpress.com/2014/02/16/social-curiosity
Finding Inspiration – Everywhere! I’m actually borrowing a recently mined memory from my Mom for this reflection, but it definitely has a ring of truth for today. Mom actually laughs herself to tears when she talks about it. Sorry, need to end this, I just got three Facebook notifications…. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.
