Notes from the Land of the Morning Calm. Saturday, August 23, 2008. As you've probably noticed by now, this blog has been all but abandoned by its author. Well, i believe now is the time to finally put it out of its misery. As my time living in Korea comes to an end, so must this blog. China or Thailand again? We'll see how the non-plan plan works out. Notes from the Land of the Morning Calm. Sunday, September 30, 2007. My hostel was located north of the stream and mere steps away from Changdeokgung, one of Seoul's many fabled palaces. There are also some Buddhist temples to visit, but i didn't happen to find my way to any of those. However, i did. Happen to find my way to Insadong, one of Seoul's designated Special Tourist Zones and a marketplace for traditional Korean arts, crafts, antiques, and other souvenirs. It was just a ten minute walk away.
