Bret Blog: BEST BOOKS OF 2014
http://almostbruce.blogspot.com/2015/03/best-books-of-2014.html
Friday, March 20, 2015. BEST BOOKS OF 2014. These are the top five books I read in 2014. Think Lord of the Rings. 4 The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. Bruno is the young son of the man who is assigned to oversee the prison camp in. During World War II. Completely naïve about what his father does or the purpose of the camp, Bruno ends up befriending a boy his own age through the fence. Seen through the eyes of innocence, this historical travesty is made even more tragic. 3 The Poisonwood Bible. 2 So Much More.

Thursday, August 7, 2014. The Five Best Movies of 2013 You’ve Already Seen. The following movies are ones you probably saw. 5) Ender’s Game. This movie, based on a classic sci-fi novel, has been in the works for years and years. When I met Orson Scott Card in 2008, he was on the phone between lectures, dealing with the business of the film. This was a lot of effects and hoopla, but the story was solid. I loved that it was in real-time. The story made some brutal turns and that was brave. This...Well, duh...

Friday, March 27, 2015. BEST MOVIES OF 2014. These are the top five movies I saw in 2014. 5 The Lego Movie. When I heard about this, I immediately concluded it would be the dumbest movie of the year. Certainly it would win all the awards at the Razzies. I was very wrong. It is well written, a fun story, and it made me laugh several times. I saw it twice. Anybody who turns their nose up at it, has forgotten the child they used to be. 4 Edge of Tomorrow. 3 Magic in the Moonlight. 2 Guardians of the Galaxy.
