“There is no art without intention.” - Duke Ellington: May 2008
http://emcwilliams.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
8220;There is no art without intention.” - Duke Ellington. Saturday, May 31, 2008. A sort of death and rebirth. And so another year comes to a close. Wow, and what a year it has been. And here we are at the end of it. This year has been crazy. I'm not even sure that I'm aware of everything that went on with me, and I am. I started out the year as a person insanely self-concious. critical. afraid. uncomfortable. How I looked physically. How I looked on a report card. How I looked in church. Do easily....
“There is no art without intention.” - Duke Ellington: would you change?
http://emcwilliams.blogspot.com/2009/10/would-you-change.html
8220;There is no art without intention.” - Duke Ellington. Friday, October 16, 2009. I used to blog incessantly. write incessantly. transfer my thoughts from one medium to another incessantly. The act of writing used to be necessary. i had so much running through my brain that i had to empty it out frequently. I haven't been "blogging" (with or without an actual blog) much recently. I really enjoy writing. Not really sure why i dropped the habit. I guess people change. How much can we really change?
“There is no art without intention.” - Duke Ellington: August 2008

8220;There is no art without intention.” - Duke Ellington. Saturday, August 2, 2008. I wonder how people perceive me. We live in a culture where, chances are, you are labeled as one of the above. we decide who is cool and who's not. we decide who we want to associate with by how we have labeled them. how many of the people around you would you label 'Christ-like'? In such a way? Followers of Christ are called to represent Him her eon earth, to actually be. Someone with a dirty mouth. perverted though...

“There is no art without intention.” - Duke Ellington: April 2008
http://emcwilliams.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
8220;There is no art without intention.” - Duke Ellington. Tuesday, April 8, 2008. Bitterness before the table. I never thought I was a bitter person. There was a time in my life where I simply wouldn't forgive. God changed me radically, and so I assumed that post-change, I was pretty good at forgiving. My mom proved me wrong. During my ranting, which went on for awhile, my mom quietly says. Emily, you're bitter. You see, I've just never really been bitter. Or so I thought. But over the last few months, ...
Raindrops from my heart: Glancing in the rear view mirror.

Raindrops from my heart. Those who challenge, encourage, and teach me:. John H. Quinley. Glancing in the rear view mirror. View my complete profile. Thursday, May 15, 2008. Glancing in the rear view mirror. I was going through some journals and I found something I wrote a little under a year ago. It's not great, but it just hit me in the gut. I still feel so much the same as I did the very moment I wrote this, even with how much I've grown and changed. Something safe, secure, and familiar. Wonderfully wri...
“There is no art without intention.” - Duke Ellington: Confession #39208
http://emcwilliams.blogspot.com/2008/06/confession-39208.html
8220;There is no art without intention.” - Duke Ellington. Sunday, June 8, 2008. Ok, so confession:. This week I ignored God. I'm disgusted with myself, really. I basically blew Him off all week. I got so wrapped up in me. This time last week, I was trying to turn everything over to Him. and here I am, 7 days later, thinking "wow, I definitely took a wrong turn somewhere back there.". I'm not even going to lie. this past week has been rough. My cat died. yea, that. Sucked. no joke. But I didn't this time.

John Q. Journalist. Published work/living resume of a Detroit writer. February 18, 2018 by johnqhorn. Melissa Price and Detroit’s dPOP continue to reinvent the way downtown Detroit workers make and do. This article appeared originally in the February 2016 edition of Bellow Press. By John Q. Horn. The physical aesthetics of the American workplace has transformed. And nobody exemplifies that reinvention more than Melissa Price and her Detroit-based company, dPOP. When that building opened, it marked a land...
