http://johnrector.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 7, 2011. Has been out for two week, and the response has been fantastic. The book hit the ground running on day one, and it's still going strong. This one is easily my fastest selling novel so far, so thanks to everyone who has picked up a copy or is planning to. In the meantime, I went on KMTV's The Morning Blend. Today to talk about the books, movie stuff, and writing in general. If you'd like to see how it turned out, here's a link:. The call is coming from Inside the house. JOHN RECT...
Notes from The Great Nebraskan Wasteland: Happy New Year
http://johnrector.blogspot.com/2012/01/happy-new-year.html
Sunday, January 1, 2012. Just a quick update to start 2012. Simon and Schuster released Already Gone in the UK on December 8th, and the response has exceeded all my expectations. It hit the Heatseekers Chart the first week after the release, and climbed into the top five the second week. I have no idea where it is now, but with any luck the momentum is still going strong. I’ll post a new update when I hear more. The Nerd of Noir @ Spinetingler Magazine. The Lincoln Journal Star. Sacramento, CA) in March.
Notes from The Great Nebraskan Wasteland: Bestseller
http://johnrector.blogspot.com/2012/01/so-much-for-my-promise-to-keep-this.html
Sunday, January 22, 2012. So much for my promise to keep this blog updated. In my defense, I’ve been working non-stop on the new book, and if all goes well it'll be released sometime in September 2012. I'm also hoping to have a new novella available sometime this summer. The biggest news so far this year is that Already Gone officially became a national bestseller after hitting #8 on the Wall Street Journal’s Bestseller list in the US. LA Review of Books. Until then, thanks for reading. Luigi, not sure w...
Notes from The Great Nebraskan Wasteland: Out of the Black
http://johnrector.blogspot.com/2013/08/out-of-black.html
Tuesday, August 27, 2013. Out of the Black. Publication day is here. Written in a spare, laconic style reminiscent of Elmore Leonard or Robert B. Parker, this fast-moving, bleak thriller driven by the economic realities of modern America will appeal to fans of suspense fiction from the grittier side of the mean streets.— Library Journal. Out of the Black. There's a lot of stuff coming in the next couple weeks, but here are a few early reviews and links. New York Journal of Books. Out of the Gutter. JOHN ...

Bus Full of Losers. Thursday, December 6, 2012. The Next Big Thing or A Day Late and a Tag Short. Apologies to Bracken MacLeod. Who so kindly tagged me in this blog tour) for dropping the ball and coming in late with my post. I'm also going to be one person short, as I only managed to wrangle four of the five people required. So, rather than waste anymore time, I'll get started. 1 What is the title of your book? The Year of the Storm. 2 Where did the idea come from for the book? Where do they go? 7 How l...
Bus Full of Losers: Very Random Thoughts Four Days Before The Release of My Novel
http://jpmantooth.blogspot.com/2013/05/very-random-thoughts-four-days-before.html
Bus Full of Losers. Friday, May 31, 2013. Very Random Thoughts Four Days Before The Release of My Novel. On Tuesday, my first novel hits the shelves. It's something I've dreamed about for a very long time, certainly since high school, but most likely even before that. How does it feel? Anthology that everybody wanted to be in. This was a turning point. If I could write a short story that Ellen Datlow wanted, I could write a novel that one of the big six wanted. It was probably a little irrati...When I fi...

Bus Full of Losers. Saturday, December 29, 2012. Five books I loved in 2012. I don't know when these books were published, I only know that I read them in 2012 and each book, in its own way, took over my life for a little while (the way all good books should). Here's the list in no particular order with links so you can order them! Dare Me- Megan Abbott. Well worth checking out. The Next Time You See Me- Holly Goddard Jones. A Monster Calls- Patrick Ness. The Devil All the Time- Donald Ray Pollack. A dar...

Bus Full of Losers: July 2012
http://jpmantooth.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Bus Full of Losers. Wednesday, July 25, 2012. Is no more. Well, the book still exists, but the name is history. The new title is The Year of the Storm. I think this is a better fit and will work better with expected cover art, not to mention that it's more evocative than Slip. It was tough to let go at first, but now I'm completely sold on the new title. Just need to get used to referring to it as The Year of the Storm. The year of the storm. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Bus Full of Losers. Wednesday, June 5, 2013. Highlights from Release Day. Yesterday was release day for The Year of the Storm. It was also a day full of links and excitement surrounding the book. Here are the highlights:. This is my favorite because I really respect Keith Rawson as a reviewer and this is what he says about The Year of the Storm in his introduction:. The Year of the Storm is without question my debut novel of 2013, and one which I hope you’ll be willing to take a chance on. I'm represente...

Notes from The Great Nebraskan Wasteland
Tuesday, April 25, 2017. It’s pub day…. I'm excited about this one. I get excited about them all, but this one in particular because it's a little different for me. It's still a suspense novel, and still built on a hard-boiled/noir foundation, but The Ridge lurks closer to The Twilight Zone, Black Mirror, and Tales from the Darkside realm than any of my previous books. It’s also my personal favorite, and I’m thrilled it’s finally out in the world. I hope you dig it. Stay tuned, there's more to come.

Upgrade to paid account! 13 July 2014 @ 11:31 pm. 18 March 2013 @ 11:24 pm. 23 December 2011 @ 07:40 am. Клип, клип, клип:) ). Будоражащ...
