A Poag and Harper Anthology: February 2012
http://poags.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
A Poag and Harper Anthology. Some 20 years ago my parents began putting some of their childhood memories to paper at my rather nagging and repetitive insistence. I was a young parent and wanted my children to know what everyday life had been like for their grandparents growing up in the 1930s and 1940s. I was rather lucky because both my parents complied. I hope other family members will add their own stories here. Sunday, February 05, 2012. Dad writes about Robert McBride Poag in Wayne County.

Musings from an Alabama Liberal. Musings on Politics, computers, ebay, the internet and the south, especially Alabama. Monday, April 21, 2008. Germany, Bush, Neanderthal and Marx. I read an article on ZDnet today. The article reported that the Germans had been depicting Bush in editorial cartoons as a chimpanzee but just today, German officials had referred to Bush as a Neanderthal because of his lack of ehrm, well, judgement on environmental issues that face the entire globe. I should know better than t...

http://bluffpark.blogspot.com/2010/07/sometimes-you-have-to-say-goodbye.html
Musings from an Alabama Liberal. Musings on Politics, computers, ebay, the internet and the south, especially Alabama. Wednesday, July 07, 2010. Sometimes you have to say goodbye. Being in Birmingham, Alabama, one is always happy to find a friend who is also liberal. I met someone my age who is the mother of one of my son's friends a couple of years ago. I really didn't get to know her until the last 12 months or so. She is fun to be with and I enjoyed her company. Did I mention the chipmunk story?

Musings from an Alabama Liberal. Musings on Politics, computers, ebay, the internet and the south, especially Alabama. Thursday, January 29, 2009. Will the end of the world be on December 12, 2012? I don't think so though I've heard some people say that if Sarah Palin wins the presidential election that year, it will. So the question then becomes, what is it about disaster, catastrophe and doom that so fascinate people who are otherwise rational people? Top Chef this week. I think Stefan will win the sea...

http://bluffpark.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Musings from an Alabama Liberal. Musings on Politics, computers, ebay, the internet and the south, especially Alabama. Friday, June 20, 2008. GOP vs. DNC. Today I was asked by the AARP to send a note to both parties about health care insurance plans. Yes, I'm now old enough to be on the AARP's list. I went to the GOP website first, looking for a "contact" link. But that's not what I'm writing about. And here is why. Who is running for President on the Republican ticket? Well the Cold War is over and appa...
