I will change it up from time to time as I create new offerings. In the left column, I have displayed pages from my latest altered book. One of my favorite ways to make an altered book is to think of my artwork working in connection with the author of the book. It is a partnership of sorts- a creative collaboration. ...The Paper Bag: Hipster
http://a-paper-bag.blogspot.com/2010/02/hipster.html
Wednesday, February 24, 2010. It disturbs me these days to see young kids trying to "become" a hipster. Why? It was never meant as a title, but a criticism. A stereotype, if you will. It's no different than calling someone who wears black a goth. It's just assumptive and out of line. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy the occasional hipster joke. Just don't say it. Producing Worship: The Concert "Suck Knob" Syndrome
http://producingworship.blogspot.com/2006/10/concert-suck-knob-syndrome.html
Reflection on Worship Production. The Concert "Suck Knob" Syndrome. While ago my friend went to a concert and once again experienced the "Suck Knob", here is what he had to say, as well as my comments on the subject:. Why is it that the sound men for opening acts at a concert aren't allowed to bring the band up to the same or similar standard as the headlining band? Is there a "suck knob" or filter back there that makes them sound that much worse only to make the main act sound that much better? 2 Piggyb...

Producing Worship: September 2011
http://producingworship.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Reflection on Worship Production. Is Your Worship Vertically Challenged? OK, so I'm gonna just say what has been dwelling inside for some time and fighting to come out. All to often in many 'worship services' that I have been a part of over the course of my life have been what I call vertically challenged. You ask, what do you mean? No I'm not referring to all the short people that I've witnessed worshiping, though I could recount several that do come to mind. Put the two together and I come up with:.

Purpose of Form: Why the Star Wars Prequels are the most disappointing event in cinematic history
http://timmaynard.blogspot.com/2010/05/why-star-wars-prequels-are-most.html
Brief thoughts from Tim Maynard. Thursday, May 20, 2010. Why the Star Wars Prequels are the most disappointing event in cinematic history. Let's compare a nice romantic scene from "The Empire Strikes Back" and from "Attack of the Clones". Han: Come on, admit it. Sometimes you think I'm alright. Leia: Ocassionally. Maybe. When you aren't acting like a scoundrel. Scoundrel. I like the sound of that. Leia: Stop that, my hands are dirty. Han: My hands are dirty too. What are you afraid of? Han: I'm a nice man.

Purpose of Form: I'm Yours
http://timmaynard.blogspot.com/2009/12/im-yours.html
Brief thoughts from Tim Maynard. Tuesday, December 15, 2009. I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz is the sort of a sweet, fun, go-to song when you're in need of a quick musical pick-me-up. Add to that a ukulele and a six-year old bundle of cuteness, and you've got something that should lift even your Monday morning spirits. Leave a comment please. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Purpose of Form: Book Review: Picking Dandelions
http://timmaynard.blogspot.com/2010/02/book-review-picking-dandelions.html
Brief thoughts from Tim Maynard. Sunday, February 14, 2010. Book Review: Picking Dandelions. The completion of a book is a rare occurrence for me these days. For whatever reason I've fallen out of the habit. Blogs are so much more tempting reading material, with their unthreatening length and colorful pictures. Perhaps that's why Sarah's new book, "Picking Dandelions" is just what I needed to rekindle a good habit. Write what you know. That should leave you with a lot of free time.". In the second half o...
