http://baybirding.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Wildlife Watching in Druridge Bay. Sunday, 28 December 2014. This bird (QEII Lake) did its best to keep on the wrong side of. The light. Might need a few trips inland next spring to get a decent shot. Also worth a visit. Today the Peregrine sat in the field, a magnificent bird and although there was little else on show it was a treat. Maiden's Hall Lake is still losing water but the Geese are enjoying the grazing around the edges. Monday, 22 December 2014. Not much action on the bird feeders? I bought th...

Wildlife Watching in Druridge Bay. Friday, 20 February 2015. Why Wish Away Winter? Sometimes the more experienced you get the more you forget and don't appreciate the commoner birds. These Waxwings in Morpeth (found by TF and JF I think) could prove quite annoying, only showy when the light was poor. So my third trip today allowed me some photo opportunities. Yet to get a sharp image but they were worth the effort. Sunday, 15 February 2015. Monday, 9 February 2015. Bullfinches have started pairing up.

NZ271982: Returning Already?
http://baybirding.blogspot.com/2015/07/returning-already.html
Wildlife Watching in Druridge Bay. Monday, 20 July 2015. Yes 'Autumn' migration s underway. Waders are moving Knot, Whimbrel, Dunlin, Common Sandpipers and Greenshank all in evidence. If only there was some 'quality' mud for them. Little Egrets are now so common they don't get all the attention they deserve. This one had a few stabs at the sick gull before leaving it alone. This one has nice yellow legs, however, the grey lores and pale iris mean it is not a Snowy Egret. Like this fresh Juv. Arizona Days...

Little Egret (wanting to be a GWE). Work at Hauxley may yet turn this reserve around. It's that time of year again . yuck ducks. It's not a Dunlin? Rule 3: don't follow the rules! Monday, 20 July 2015. Believe it or no...

Wildlife Watching in Druridge Bay. Thursday, 29 January 2015. A Few Hours on the Patch. The feeding station still failing to attract the Redpolls even though there were only a few metres away. There is obviously lots of food in the alder cones still. The population of Pink-footed Geese has risen to over 5000 (in three different flocks). The Ross goose still remains but as always it is very distant. Monday, 26 January 2015. Wednesday, 21 January 2015. Finally the Otters put on an excellent display. I ...

Wildlife Watching in Druridge Bay. Sunday, 31 August 2014. Well where did those six weeks go? Must start ironing the shirts, making seating plans, getting up early . OH NO! Well I can't wait for next week? Saturday, 30 August 2014. Quiet isn't all bad . The sand bank at Chevington provided a nice roosting area for a mixed gull/tern flock. However a rather lively dog wouldn't leave them alone. In addition Meadow Pipits were on the move along with Tree Sparrows. Thursday, 28 August 2014. This rubbish photo...

http://baybirding.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Wildlife Watching in Druridge Bay. Friday, 27 March 2015. Who you looking at? Found five of these fab birds on the beach yesterday. A bit sunnier today so I had to take a few snaps. Nice to get some of the commoner birds in good light. This poor bird seems to be stuck on the pond dipping pool outside the country park. Mr Rat has found the Chevington Feeding Station, as has the sparrowhawk (blackbird today's victim). Wednesday, 25 March 2015. Memories of my membership of the YOC (many years ago). Finally ...
