http://tomdoolan.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-results-are-not-in.html
In the words of Tom. Friday, July 3, 2015. The results are not in. 8230;because there are no results. A couple of weeks ago, I offered one of my best stories, Blackskull’s Captive. For free on Amazon for three days. I put out the word, and got some good feedback. The idea was inspired by Charles Gramlich who had done the same with one of his stories, with some decent results. Well, the sale lasted from Saturday through Monday. Well, I did get a bunch of free downloads. Other than that, not a tremor.

Journey Versus Destination | S.A. Etter

Submitted by Stuart on Mon, 06/20/2011 - 10:00am. Some books I read for the story, or to put it differenty, for the destination. Others I read for the rich characters and the interpersonal drama. Once in a while, I find a book where I simply enjoy the prose, so the journey of reading becomes the highlight. Patrick Rothfuss' novels are perfect examples of the later, so much so that his blog. Is nearly as enjoyable as his books. For those of you who haven't read WMF or. Name of the Wind. And yet, I still r...

In the words of Tom: Opening soon?
http://tomdoolan.blogspot.com/2015/03/opening-soon.html
In the words of Tom. Friday, March 6, 2015. I was perusing my bookshelves yesterday, and I think I came to the conclusion that I just need to pare down my collection. Anyone who knows me knows that this is a major deal. I am somewhat of a collector, and borderline hoarder. I kind of always have been. Hey, it's cheaper and cleaner than saving animals from the shelter. On a side note, I would probably also entertain the idea of book trades. Ive considered doing this myself but so far no chance to do so.

In the words of Tom: Recent Reads
http://tomdoolan.blogspot.com/2015/06/recent-reads.html
In the words of Tom. Friday, June 19, 2015. After a pretty long dry spell of not finishing a book, I decided to go back to square one, and focus on shorter works (less than 200 pages or so), and familiar favorites. In the last month, I've already had two and a half successes. The Executioner #71: Blood Dues. Enter the Dragon - Novelization. And next to those was the novelization of Enter the Dragon. I grabbed all three for about $1.50. I started reading Enter the Dragon. June 20, 2015 at 1:56 PM. The Spo...

In the words of Tom: Anger Management through HALO
http://tomdoolan.blogspot.com/2015/03/anger-management-through-halo.html
In the words of Tom. Tuesday, March 24, 2015. Anger Management through HALO. I have a pretty bad temper. I get red-in-the-face angry at some of the dumbest shit. It really doesn’t take much to set me off. Fortunately, my reaction to that anger is usually just brooding and simmering until I can get a handle on it. But, sometimes it bursts out, and I raise my voice when I probably shouldn’t. This happens mostly with my kids. Anyways, my son gets me mad a lot. So, yeah, stress levels rise. But he likes to p...

In the words of Tom: In the wrong line of writing?
http://tomdoolan.blogspot.com/2015/03/in-wrong-line-of-writing.html
In the words of Tom. Tuesday, March 3, 2015. In the wrong line of writing? I know the conventional wisdom is “don’t chase the market.” We are advised by successful writers to write what we like, write what we know, write what grabs us by the passion-hairs, etc. But, what if those things aren’t what we SHOULD be writing? This is the question my fragile ego has been asking me lately. As a holder of a History degree, there is the natural instinct to write historical fiction. Could I do the same? Then there&...

After high school, that all kind of fell away. I mean, I still loved martial arts. I even carried my. Bruce Lee's Fighting Method. Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story. I am learning now how much that film got completely wrong. I have been carrying around this spiral notebook in my backpack for months, and doing very little with it. So, today I tore out the ...
