Planning our pacific passage. Enter: wanda* the travelling dinosaur. We have a stow-away. Her name is Wanda.*. Here is Wanda getting all cushioned into the comfy Emirates seat (next to Stof’s man-bag):. Lucky for Wanda (and for us) we had an empty middle seat on BOTH flights from CT-Dubai and Dubai-LAX. We also had very comfortable seats and generous (for economy) leg room and beautiful hostesses and tasty food and a really really impressive movie selection. We liked Emirates. Not all of our 4 enormous b...

smile in motion: March 2011
http://smileinmotion.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
March 8, 2011. I'm outta here for a bit! Off for some vacay! I could really use a beach, relaxation vacay, but we tend to take spring break trips not to someplace warm and sunny but to snowy mountains. So I'm off to tire myself out on the slopes and hopefully find zen in carved turns, tried muscles, hot tubs, and long naps in the car ride home. March 7, 2011. Where people are mainly positive and supportive, where women are taking ownership of their lives and feelings, and where *knock on wood*. The conte...

smile in motion: Staying Put
http://smileinmotion.blogspot.com/2011/02/staying-put.html
February 16, 2011. Our dream has always been to move out west. Out west to mountains where we can ski one run continuously for more than 30 seconds! Fun fact for the day: Lindsay Vohn grew up in Minnesota and spent her early years skiing here. Buck Hill. True, that is the wimpiest of wimpy ski hills we have. but it doesn't get that. Brett wanted to move right after graduating college, but whoops! He met some total hottie freshman who was so awesome and funny and smart and wonderful (Hi! For the last two ...

smile in motion: This is not a mix - so far behind
http://smileinmotion.blogspot.com/2011/02/this-is-not-mix-so-far-behind.html
February 25, 2011. This is not a mix - so far behind. Sometimes (ok, lots of the time) I feel like I am miles and miles behind. Like the rest of the world is out there dominating and I'm a total slacker and failing at everything imaginable. (downer much? I see people excelling and want to do the same, but there is no one thing that I excel at or am 'talented' at. Nothing in particular pulls me in any one direction. Instead, I have an interest in lots of things and am mediocre at most of them. I think thi...

http://lookingtoapril.blogspot.com/2012/03/moved.html
Sunday, March 25, 2012. So I've sort of moved over here: http:/ twigsandknees.blogspot.com.au/. I felt like I needed to start afresh. Looking to April was always meant to be about the wedding, but I wanted to write about becoming vegetarian, being a teacher, running, and. Planning the wedding. I didn't feel like it fit here. So I moved. Check it out. Update your feeds. Hopefully now I'll update a bit more. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). You can read more about me here. What's she on about?

Looking to April: March 2011
http://lookingtoapril.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 30, 2011. A few unrelated things. Probably not," I say, forcing a smile, "You don't have any non floor-length dresses, do you? It was more a statement than a question. Well, we might be getting one in, in a few months. That's the rumor, anyway! As if this dress was some secret. "So, yeah, maybe you should check back in a few months, and we might have one. They're pretty hard to come by, but people keep asking about them.". One dress. One fricken dress that they might. Have in a few months.

Looking to April: November 2011
http://lookingtoapril.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 29, 2011. Warning, whiny emo post coming up. { via. I feel flat, demotivated. I went to school this morning until 11 when I bailed. I'm sick of telling people that I still don't have a job, still hoping, 50 rejections to my 52 applications, yes, hopefully I'll hear from the school I volunteer at, yes, I'm keeping my phone close at hand, no, they haven't called. But you'll be right, you'll be right. And anyway, isn't there a teacher shortage? Yes, unless you're a graduate. I'll be short ...

What I Learned From Dress Fitting Stress | HitchDied
https://hitchdied.wordpress.com/2011/05/17/dress-fitting-stress
Arising Under →. What I Learned From Dress Fitting Stress. May 17, 2011. This is a post that is going to talk about weight, specifically me worrying about my weight and body size even though I am a thin person. So you might not want to read this if you struggle with disordered eating or body image problems or even if weight talk just makes your eyes roll. But it does have a happy ending.]. Doesn’t that sound like a recipe for neurotic disaster? It was, and I wish I’d never done it. I avoided weighing mys...
