A summer in Jerusalem. Monday, August 10, 2009. Today was our last full free day in Jerusalem. It was kind of long, but that was because I tried to make the most out of it. We had a great time! 700 year old book of Gregorian Chants. The book had to be lifted by two people and it was roughly 1 1/2 feet wide and 2 feet long. We were joined on the tour again by Brother Whipple, who is a music expert, and he sang through some of the chants with Father Angello. It was awesome to see and hear!

For our last field trip, we followed the path that Christ took in the last hours of His life, from Gethsemane to Golgotha and the Garden Tomb. Beginning in the early morning, our whole group of loud North American Mormons was told to walk in silence to the Garden of Gethsemane. It is a short walk to there from the Center. Thursday, April 30, 2009. First Day in the City. This is a picture of the outside of our room. The rooms are open to the outside and all have a patio that looks out over the city. Today we took a quick tour of Jerusalem and it got me so excited! Saturday, July 11, 2009. This Thursday we went down to the Jewish Quarter of the Old City and took a tour of the Herodian remains of the city. It was really interesting to actually see and visualize how the temple mount looked during the time of Christ. This is a model of the temple mount during Herod's time.
