Spring break started off with a walk from our house to downtown to attend luminaria. An arts event held every year. this year it was sectioned off to just hemisfair park, which was more than enough space. the food we tried was omg tasty and ranged from cajun to asian with some good ol' bbq and mexican in between. we enjoyed some great shows, exhibits, bands, and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. Zephyr is four months old and a complete joy. Our world is filled with smiles, squeals, and lovely yellow poop. Little would I have thought that keeping a watchful eye for a baby to roll onto his tummy by himself would bring such suspense and pride, but alas it does! With babies making their grand entrances all around us in our circle of friends and family, these gentle souls have never been more captivating to me, especially my sweet boy. Early summer brings folklife watermelon. Tony and i went to our first folklife festival. This past weekend. we live so close to the institute of texan cultures. Early summer is bringing some heat. in mid-day, it's absolute torture. so of course, this means it's time for some cold juicy watermelon. and just my luck, i happen to have an expert watermelon cutter handy all the time. yum. livin' in the dig: Update!
http://tscastro.blogspot.com/2014/11/update.html
It's 5am, Gemma is nursing, and only the light of the phone can be seen in the darkness. Her breathing is soft, rhythmic and comforting. The horn of the train wails in the distance as though it's quite pissed it can't be snug in bed as well. Surely everyone must be in bed, right? I hear you train. Browsing the web for a local deli about to open up led me back to my old stomping grounds, and I thought an update was in order. It's only been over a year! Zephyr is two years old and still amazing.

Time is a flying. My little man z turned a month old last week, time has really flown by. the first two weeks were definitely trying times as all three of us adjusted to our new life together: z being outside of the womb, me breastfeeding every two hours and healing from the c-section, and tony and i saying goodbye to sleeping through the night. but boy has it been worth it! Day trip to austin. The castro clan headed up to austin for the day to spend some quality time with the austin castros, tony's sister and cousins. most of the day was spent catching up in the shade, except for the paddlers. They got to paddle around lady bird lake. unfortunately, they were out of the two person paddle boats so tony and i decided to hang under the shaded trees with this little cutie. I definitely see potential! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). San Antonio, Texas. Day trip to austin.
