It was a great way to spend some time remembering the men and women who have given their lives for this country. Ava and Mikelle don't understand all that quite yet, but they do get excited about the marching band, fire trucks, and baton twirl girls! Poor Mik's naptime always interrupts her fun, and she misses out on the afternoon! I'm sitting a safe distance away so as not to get wet!

Chris found a hat hook just hangin' out on the side of the rode with a "Free" sign on it last summer. I finally got around to painting it this summer. It's now ready for a comfortable spot in our new home! This isn't the best "staged" picture of it. It's missing a little pop of color with some accent pieces, but all in due time. OK, I said that my training started on August 11th and it did, but officially the training track starts at the end of August.but I just started a couple of weeks early. Good thing, too! This week was great and I learned a lot! I made every scheduled workout this week :) Yay :) Of course, it wasn't very difficult to do that this first week, either! Sunday, September 7, 2008. I know, I know - it's been a while.for all you doubters out there, I'm still training! I just finished my first full week on the official schedule provided by my training program. Very, very excited about it and it feels really good to get into the running routine again :) My training group has TONS of people in it.and the coach is nice, but not. I got in trouble yesterday (along with others) for wearing too much clothing! Since when did a tank and capri's = too much clothing?

Wednesday, November 21, 2012. Thanksgiving.a little different this year! This year Thanksgiving will look at little different for the Whittens. Jon is working- most of his employees wanted the day off so Jon agreed. He is such an awesome boss! We have been together for almost 8 years and married for almost 6 and he has never worked a holiday so I am trying to be understanding.
