Catenary demonstration experiment, run with hyperbolic cosine. This experiment was first performed for the NJIT Mathclub in Spring 2006. Since then it has been a calculus project for students at Mount Rainier Lutheran High, WA where its hung in their commons. A number of other students from around the world have also demonstrated it. Magic eyes and me. I carefully constructed some stereographs by hand in MS Paint way back in 10th grade, and more recently wrote a program to make them in Matlab. The script is too crude for me to put here but I would be glad to send it to you if you ask. Click pictures for the larger versions. A View Camera Tilt Focus Demonstration. In my photography class I had the privilege of using a view camera, it has some nifty functions that today's fancy point and shoots can't even imagine. Wikipedia, as usual, has an excellent article. Describing them, with a section talking about the tilt. Technique I used in the photo below of my classmates in NJIT's Eberhard Hall. Notice what is in focus, and what is not in focus. See dynamics in the image below, it was taken from this website.

Frying eggs with a magnifying glass, repurposing a TV. Below is the TV the previous tenants generously left at my apartment on their way out. It did not sell on craigslist despite my best attempts:.
