Cx traveling the world. Newer posts →. Our last days in the States, October 2016. December 23, 2016. Some asked how I can afford this kind of traveling. Well, the answer is: I can’t! My dad invited me to this trip. Because we are both very frugal people we don’t spend much. Most expensive are the flights, the car and fuel, but the total cost for both of us was less than 2.500$! The longer one stays the cheaper it gets. So we are planning on buying a car next year and stay three months! Biiig, like trees!

Broken dream / aus der Traum. June 19, 2014. Good bye my loved ones. Well, it’s time to say good bye to my dream of sailing and living with Hannes on Optimist. As it happens quite often on boats we have unsolvable relationship issues. Hannes decided it’s better to continue without me and I am heading back to Vienna. I didn’t see it coming so I’m devastated and sad but will not stop traveling! Just different, backpacking as before, without having to worry about the boat. Good bye lovely market ladies.

We left Europe 2008 with ‘Pukuri’, an open bridge catamaran. Sailed her all the way to French Polynesia, westernmost point: Bora Bora, back to Tahiti and then had the chance to upgrade our very basic lifestyle and bought a new cat in Portugal. We left Portugal on ‘Optimist’ in February 2012, Canary Islands, crossing the Atlantic in April (31 days!
