My Ideation Has Found a Home: ASP.NET Vulnerability
http://jonathanmccracken.blogspot.com/2010/09/aspnet-vulnerability.html
My Ideation Has Found a Home. Every really new idea looks crazy at first. Wednesday, September 29, 2010. If you haven't heard already there is a security problem with all versions of ASP.NET (yes.including MVC) which allows attackers to read/request protected files, like the Web.Config. In order to protect these files you'll need to install the patch that is appropriate to your OS and .NET version. Click here for that patch. Posted by Jonathan McCracken. Labels: asp.net mvc. My Ideation Has Found a Home. Every really new idea looks crazy at first. Friday, August 27, 2010. Windsor 2.0 and Log4Net. So I was looking for two DLL's to get Log4Net working with Windsor 2.0. I had a hard time finding the version I needed, as I guess I'm in the dark ages not using Windsor 2.5. The files in question are: Castle.Facilities.Logging.dll and Castle.Services.Logging.Log4netIntegration.dll. Why am I using Windsor 2.0? So here they are - enjoy! Posted by Jonathan McCracken. I've had a lot of...

My Ideation Has Found a Home. Every really new idea looks crazy at first. Monday, July 19, 2010. I was pleasantly surprised last week to hear that Microsoft awarded me an MVP (Most Valuable Professional) for my work in the community with ASP.NET MVC. Thank you to everyone who nominated me, and all the community members who tried not to fall asleep during my presentations and talks ;). And now for the official logo. Now that I've basked in all this honor and glory, on to the real content of this post.

Automated Builds | Kaokart's Blog

I’ve been on several different projects across various organizations and one thing that I notice consistently is that they do not have an automated build in place for their projects. Either the developers do not understand the concepts and benefits behind using an automated build or they choose to neglect it because it’s extra work. Automated builds is an important aspect of a project similar to source control. What would an automated build do? Build the application binaries. Some tools to help with auto...

Jonathan McCormick | Web and mobile developer
Web and mobile developer. When I was 14 years old my mom was running a business on Etsy, and she needed someone to help her with a small HTML project. She signed up for Lynda.com, and I was drafted. I wasn’t far into. Before I realized I loved everything about this new world. I remember daydreaming while I was mowing the lawn about what I could build the next time I was able to sit down at my mom’s computer. And that’s how my adventure began. After a good friend of mine built an iOS app for. I was tasked...

Xamarin Studio simply refused to recognize my phone as a debugging option. Then yesterday, while I was working on the Udacity Android Development for Beginners. Tagged With: Android Development.
