Irony is Lost on Walmart | Personal Learning
https://jonathanpscott.com/2012/03/03/irony-is-lost-on-walmart
A blog about what I've learned. Irony is Lost on Walmart. This entry was posted on March 3, 2012 and tagged Consumerism. For a little family entertainment this weekend, we caught up on another excellent Pixar film, WALL-E. The movie is a nice story about robots (which explains one of the reasons I liked it), but its one of the themes that made me think of this post. Of course Walmart carries the movie! Walmart, in typical Buy N Large fashion, carries 22 different WALL-E related items. Fill in your detail...
Joy is Free | Personal Learning

A blog about what I've learned. This entry was posted on March 16, 2012 and tagged joy. Boy is it easy to be cynical and unimpressed these days. In fact, that’s the problem. It is much easier to be critical, jaded, and generally unhappy than it is to be pleased with simple things and in awe of what’s around us. A simple experience reminded me of this, and of how easy it is to experience joy. At first, I scoffed to myself, “what, has this guy never seen a bathroom before? Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Get e...
Dog Poop and Business | Personal Learning

A blog about what I've learned. Dog Poop and Business. This entry was posted on March 13, 2012 and tagged business. I’ll admit that this one is a little odd, but I nonetheless found it interesting. I was reading a magazine, saw an offbeat business opportunity, and that led me to this tidbit about dog poop. I knew dog waste was unpleasant, but I didn’t realize it was toxic. So first, the business opportunity. PooPrints. OK Not my thing, but whatever. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Click ...

Game-Changing Computers | Personal Learning
https://jonathanpscott.com/2012/03/14/game-changing-computers
A blog about what I've learned. This entry was posted on March 14, 2012 and tagged Computers. Who hasn’t taken a second to think about the ways in which computers have changed, and will continue to change, our lives? It’s a tired topic, but I was thinking about the unnoticed ways in which growing computer power (in shrinking package sizes) is continuing to change things. That reminded me of this thing I find cool: QuadCopters. With this technology, people are creating autonomous aircraft that can fly to ...

Jonathan Pryke | Legal career and triathlon
Legal career and triathlon. Exams are done….well for the time being! February 25, 2011. Well, I have finally finished the toughest LPC exams so I guess now I had better start doing some training! Training has been somewhat restricted over the past couple of months due to work commitments, exams and the weather….you can always count on England providing 4 seasons in 1 day (great Crowded House song).
